“Good, functional stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

This was perfect for our visit to Melbourne for the Australian Open. The room had a bedroom, a separate sitting room, a small functional kitchen, and washer/dryer. It was clean and furnished in a functional style. The location was perfect to take the tram to the tennis or downtown and out to St. Kilda. The Belgium Beer Bar across the street was our gathering spot post tennis. Service at the hotel was good.
The only complaint was we had to go to the coffee shop two doors down the street for free wi-fi.

“Good place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Good sized rooms and helpful staff.

Belgium beer cafe is opposite which is a brilliant bar!

Gym is small.

Room service can be hit and miss, breakfasts are good.

10 min tram ride to Melbourne cbd.

“Easy to get to the town centre and St Kilda by tram, but the little things weren't right.”

Nothing really wrong with the rooms really, but the little things were poor - the duvet was very noisy when rustled, the air conditioning was so loud it had to be switched off at night, the bed was a small double, and there was no sink other than the bathroom one, and no info was provided in the room at all (about the area, the hotel, the wi-fi, the telly etc)

“A comfortable stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Located along St Kilda road, approx half way between St Kilda Beach and the city centre.

A very comfortable hotel. We booked to stay in a studio room and were upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment which was very nice. Although the bedroom itself was fairly small the living/kitchen area was big as was the bathroom (shower only, no bath).

The kitchen area was ample for prepping basic meals, it had 2 hobs, microwave, sink and fridge. There was 1 large dinner plate so we called down to reception and they sent one up almost immediately. However a few hours later we realised there was no tea/coffee cups. When we rang down this time to staff were less friendly and said if they couldn't find any would it be ok if they just sent some up in the morning. After we pointed out that there was a restaurant downstairs and they could just get 2 cups from there they agreed but did take about 30mins to bring them up.

There was a large washing machine in the bathroom, big ironing board, haridryer etc.

There's a restaurant and small gym onsite but we did not use either.

Hotel staff were friendly at the reception, keen to help with directions etc.
Tram stop right outside the hotel is handy or it is about a 40 min walk to Federation Square.

Overall it was a comfortable stay and there no faults but I would prefer to stay closer to the city centre in the future

Room Tip: I asked for a room high up and they were very apologetic that they could not accomodate my request s...

“small but has it all at good price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

I stayed in a small single room in this hotel for 5 nights. It has a very good location between Center and St kilda north to south and Prahran and Albert Lake Park east to west. The room is tiny but the bed is large, it has a tv, bathroom, kitchen with microwave oven and a fridge so it was really a mini studio apartment.

The staff were friendly and the price was really good at 99AUD a night.

There was also a small gym I didn't use.

The only thing that could be improved is the design of the door handles, which have sharp edges - not very safe....
