“Beautiful house and grounds, welcoming hosts, slightly bureaucratic breakfast”

First impressions couldn't have been better. Terrific building and lovely garden. Warm welcome with a complimentary glass of champagne (including a poached strawberry).

In terms of location it is a slight walk from town but not as far as it looks on the map. There are also some fantastic walks nearby that include beautiful coastline, beaches, a historic village, a sailing club and a boat yard.

I have to say that the breakfast situation was very unusual and a little too bureaucratic for my personal liking which is why I have docked a point. A form is placed under your door every evening, where you must choose what you would like for breakfast the following day, as well as a time slot between 8 am and 9 am (at a 15 minute interval). Each breakfast item has a unit price. These are reasonable, however there is a minimum charge of $17.50 per person which makes the individual prices slightly redundant. On the first day we wanted a small breakfast so didn't fancy paying $35 for a few slices of toast and a cup of tea. It is a shame they don't offer a simple breakfast option. On the second day we were tempted but the times weren't ideal. The menu did look very appetizing and would be good value if you fancy a hearty breakfast.

In terms of the room it was tastefully decorated and there was fresh milk in the fridge.

“Extraordinary place.”

This was our second visit here (1st Jan 2012) and let me make a promise ... if my wife & I visit Hobart again, we will ALWAYS stay at Clydesdale Manor.
I cannot imagine a B&B better than this!
The place is immaculate. Both Wayne & Lynne look after their home with the utmost pride and treat their guests as family members.
It is hard to write it in words … you must visit this place and experience it for yourself.
My biggest tip is: Do NOT skip breakfast. In a word: Extraordinary.
We will return.

“Excellent accommodation in a beautiful setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We stayed at Clydesdale Manor for 2 nights as part of a 5 day holiday in Tasmania in mid January without the kids. We chose Clydesdale Manor after reading the reviews on here and were not disappointed. From the friendly greeting and free champagne cocktails to the lovely surroundings and comfortable room we really enjoyed our stay. Wayne was very helpful with providing information on where to eat and cooked excellent breakfasts that we enjoyed in the beautiful sunny 'morning' room. There was a lovely sitting room if you didn't want to stay in your room that was downstairs and this had a great selection of cd's. We stayed in the upstairs spa room which had excellent air conditioning and a lovely balcony with a table and chairs.
Would definately recommend and stay again. Thank you Wayne and Lynne!

“Lovely Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I stayed 3 nights at this B&B. My room is right beside the front door. The location is great as all the main attractions are within walking distance. The room is clean, comfortable, spacious and the heated bathroom floors was a plus. The hosts Wayne and Lynne were lovely and they helped me with great restaurants during my journey. The breakfasts cooked by Wayne were great and tasty, highly recommended. Staying here was one of the highlight of my journey to Hobart. Definitely will be back again. Thanks Wayne and Lynne.
