First impressions couldn't have been better. Terrific building and lovely garden. Warm welcome with a complimentary glass of champagne (including a poached strawberry).
In terms of location it is a slight walk from town but not as far as it looks on the map. There are also some fantastic walks nearby that include beautiful coastline, beaches, a historic village, a sailing club and a boat yard.
I have to say that the breakfast situation was very unusual and a little too bureaucratic for my personal liking which is why I have docked a point. A form is placed under your door every evening, where you must choose what you would like for breakfast the following day, as well as a time slot between 8 am and 9 am (at a 15 minute interval). Each breakfast item has a unit price. These are reasonable, however there is a minimum charge of $17.50 per person which makes the individual prices slightly redundant. On the first day we wanted a small breakfast so didn't fancy paying $35 for a few slices of toast and a cup of tea. It is a shame they don't offer a simple breakfast option. On the second day we were tempted but the times weren't ideal. The menu did look very appetizing and would be good value if you fancy a hearty breakfast.
In terms of the room it was tastefully decorated and there was fresh milk in the fridge.
