Beware everyone!, long gone are the days where one could get a good counter meal here. My wife sent her raw!! well done ordered steak back only to be told by a very rude young dark haired waitress that the cook said because you have tried it we cant help you.. ok but how about bringing it back out from the kitchen so i could atleast look as though i had something to eat, while we dined. On complaint to Leigh the manager he still allowed my wife no offer other than a $10 refund on a $23 order!!. Please everyone do yourself a big favour and dine somewhere else as you will be dissapointed trust us. thanks mat

I cannot understand how anyone could say that this place is romantic. The unit had not been cleaned. Light fittings broken . The sheets had been slept in. All in all the worst hotel we stayed in our trip to Tasmania.

Affordable and comfortable, the Cascade Hotel is my favourite place to stay in Hobart. The 2-bedroom apartments are unbelievable value. Clean and comfortable. The management is friendly and the pub next door is fantastic for a meal and a drink while mixing with the locals. It's about 2.5km from the city centre but the bus stops right outside the front door. Located in the low-key suburb of South Hobart, it is a real local's local.
