This is a stylish hotel, good use is made of the original features and the art work adds a different dimension to the stay. We had to book an upgraded room and seeing other comments on here this was fortunate as there was a function in the internal courtyard. The room was small but well equipped and the bathroom with spa bath was excellent. Although the room did not have wifi this was freely available in the lobby and worked well.
On arrival service was efficient as was the valet parking. We are not able to eat in the restaurant due to aforementioned function but were given advice regarding suitable alternative.. Smolt.
Our room rate included breakfast but this was poor. The cold buffet was not replenished (we ate at 8am).and the choice was limited. What was ridiculous is that we were only entitled to 1 small cup of coffee each. When I asked for a 2nd the staff had to discuss this before allowing it, I guess because I had not opted for a cooked breakfast!

We stayed at the Henry Jones for three nights, it was our second visit. The rooms are cozy and beautiful, we loved the art work and decor, and the views of the harbour were great. We took an art tour of the hotel, let by a curator, and although she was a bit long winded, the tour was interesting and informative. My only complaint is that they had some real troubles with wireless service, and because there is no business center or computer available, we had to walk around Hobart to find a wireless hot spot. For the very steep room price, there really should be wireless service free and available!

Admittedly we only stayed at this hotel for one night but for me the hotel was not worthy of all of the hype. It is cool that they repurposed an old jam factory into a hotel but our room overlooked an inner courtyard of a shopping area so we did not even have a view to the outdoors, much less to the harbor. We were also disturbed by the noise of the bar area under our room. Hardly a world class hotel, in my opinion.

We stayed for a night as part of a tour around Tassie. The hotel in general is excellent and the room we got was really comfortable and a feature in itself; feature from the old warehouse have been retained and integrated into the room design and the bathroom was amazing. The only downside to the room that we had (on the back of the hotel) was that it was a bit noisy outside in the morning around breakfast time since it backed onto an indoor food and shopping court. The staff in the hotel are what really makes it stand out. Everyone was friendly and very professional, amongst the best we had in our whole trip. If you go try out the cocktails in the bar, they were awesome :)
