“Great location, Super helpful staff”

I went to Hobart without any lodging booking during the Sydney to Hobart race week and the Taste of Hobart. By chance, I asked the front desk for any vacancies and I was lucky to secure one for two nights. Car hire during that period was sparse, but the super staff directed me to a local small business, who, despite not having a fancy office with uniformed staff, was able to provide a decent car at an extremely decent price, under the circumstances.

The hotel facilities were very simple, with a bed, bathroom, a mini- fridge, microwave, tea/coffee maker. The location is excellent. Very central, close to Salamanca, the boat dock, an I-site and restaurants.

“Great Value, Super Staff”

I was travelling with 5 friends on motorbikes and we pulled in late one Friday afternoon (6.30 pm).

There was a young guy at Reception and he was the sort of guy we love in these positions.

We told him there was 6 of us, all single guys, that we all had motorbikes to garage, etc.

This guy was great – all he did was find solutions for every single issue/problem we had.

There are limited car spaces and the guy at Reception said "Wait here and I’ll move my car onto the street and you can have my spot so you’ll be able to fit all the bikes in, etc, etc."

You know when the Reception guy moves his own car so you can have his spot is when you’re on a winner.

We were smack bang in the middle of the Hobart waterfront, with a secure garage for the bikes and the apartments were great:

* spacious
* perfectly clean
* modern

A 4-star apartment at a bargain price, with great staff who look after you and ensure all your needs are met.

Being right in the wharf area – a minute walk to Salamanca, 30 second walk to the river cruises and more – this was the pick of the places we’d stayed in in Tasmania.

“Good location”

I stayed here for one night on business.

The location of the hotel is very good --- close to the docks, Salamanca, Battery Point, and the town centre. There are some very good places nearby to have a meal.

I got a room on the 1st floor which, while basic and a bit dated, was clean and had ample space. Apart from the bed, the room was equipped with a small table to work and dine on, a fridge, and the usual mini-bar amenities. Wireless internet is available for a fee.

I am all right go back here --- can't complain really about the room and, most importantly, the location!

Wireless internet is available

The reviews of this hotel on Tripadvisor read quite similarly, and I think that's a pretty fair summation of things at Quest Waterfront Hobart. The hotel is well-positioned for exploring most of Hobart's city attractions, and for that reason it probably generates a good amount of clientele. The room I stayed in was furnished very basically and I agree that this hotel is closer to the 3-star mark than the 4-star mark. Okay for a couple of nights, but for a longer stay I would look for somewhere a bit more "homely", such as Hadley's. The staff here were very friendly (as I find most Hobartians to be!)

“Location = awesome, hotel = okay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2011

My family and I stayed here a couple of weeks ago. We had 2 rooms, 1 with just a queen size bed, the other with a queen and 2 singles, I'd say both were pretty much just standard rooms (I think some rooms had better tvs than ours had and these must have been better rooms).
The larger room was a great size, enough room for table, chairs lounge chairs, luggage etc and we certainly didn't feel squashed with 6 adults and 1 baby hanging out in this room.
Both rooms had sink, small fridge and microwave (microwave in the bigger room could have been cleaner) and they supplied a stove top and oven thing for us (although the stove wasn't terribly warm).
Our rooms weren't serviced on Sunday night which was a little annoying.
Also the large room would have been better if it had the double in a smaller room, part of the larger one.
Location was great, probably couldn't have been better.
Next door was a pub which had $5 parmas and $10 1 litre beers on thurs, fri and sat nights which was pretty awesome.
Car parking was a real drag, really really tight, and and out a real challenge with a rented car that we didn't want to scratch.
Price was okay.
Would stay here again, but would consider other options first.

Thank you for staying at Quest Waterfront and the feedback from your recent stay.
We offer rooms on the waterfront that are affordable and provide value for money.
All our apartments offer kitchenettes including, toaster, kettle, sinks, bar fridges and microwaves. I apologise the microwave in our Family Suite was not cleaned. I have addressed this with our housekeeping staff and will continue to monitor this. As we do not have full ovens in the rooms we have portable hotplates and toaster ovens available for use.

As a Quest Nationwide we do not service rooms on Sundays, so as to not disturb guests. As we note on the arrivals letter that we hand to all guests when they check in, your room can be serviced on Sundays on request.

We have two car parks available at the hotel. The car parking in our building is quiet small and limited. On check in we always ask about the size of the car going into car park as we understand how difficult this can be. At anytime if guests feel uncomfortable parking in these spaces we have overnight and weekend car parking available directly behind us which we always offer.

I apologise that there were some aspects of your stay that were not enjoyable and I hope the next time you are in Hobart you re-visit us.

Kind Regards
