“Worth Every Penny!”

This hotel exudes luxury, solitude and graciousness. From the time you enter through the automatic gates into the secluded parking area, you are treated as royalty. Here are the highlights:

Pros:
-Beautiful union of modern architecture to the existing historic structure.
-Fabulous hosts that attend to every want and desire.
-Modern, ultra luxurious room complete with fine loose leaf teas and freshly ground plunger coffee.
-Delicious on site meals using the freshest ingredients from their own garden.
-Hobart's attractions are all within walking distance, but far enough away to feel as though you are in the country.

Cons:
-Did not stay longer.

“Outstanding in every sense”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Thomas Barker, the general manager of this superb establishment, has a friendly, easygoing manner that allows guest to thoroughly enjoy this jewel in Hobart. The resident chef made the best scrambled eggs I've ever had. Everything about this hotel will amaze you, the rooms, the art, the food, the view from the garden. Relax and enjoy!

Room Tip: Garden room had a beautiful view of Mt. Wellington

‘everything about this hotel will amaze you’ wow that’s quite the statement. I do truly believe that a relaxed sense of luxury is the most pleasant way to go about your day, especially if you are in unfamiliar surroundings.

“Outstanding venue exceptional experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

What an outstanding hotel the Islington is. This is a truly spectacular venue, the ambience is sublime. You must have dinner in one night, the chowder outstanding the rack of lamb delicious and the chocolate fondant delightful.

We were at the Islington for our wedding anniversary and it was the perfect way to spend our celebration.

The honour system in the bar downstairs is delightful. Our room just beautiful including luxurious bath and super shower

Awesome place to stat

This hotel was luxurious, casual, elegant and comfortable. The art was fantastic and the food was delicious.

Everything about it was great. I can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: I loved the attic room

Thanks to JC for using all the adjectives I usually do when talking to friends and colleagues about Islington; comfortable, elegant, casual, luxurious. The ability to produce an attentively relaxed guest relations experience is a rare almost unique feature of the hotel, and Chef Jonathan Alexander’s menu is consistently producing out the type of unpretentious dishes I want to see more of in hotel restaurants. Apparently I’m not the only one.

“The best of the best...”

From the moment we drove in the private gates this hotel surpassed our expectations. The staff were lovely, the setting so romantic and the room was immaculate. Too tired to venture back in to Hobart we decided to stay for dinner (cooked by the in house chef) where we sampled mussels, lamb and an outstanding seafood chowder. Our garden room had a complimentary mini bar, bath products by Aesop and the latest Marie Clare magazine as well as a fresh vase of roses that had been picked from the gardens just before our arrival. Before Thursday I never knew that this hotel existed - now I don't know how I will be able to stay in any other accommodation in Hobart again. Try it. I promise you won't regret it!

Room Tip: Dine in. The food is as good as you will find at the top notch dining establishments in Hobart.
