I have stayed here numerous times, almost always in either room 50 or 54.
It is clean, comfortable and affordable, and it has history - It was built in the late 1800's. (It is believed that the tower was built for an invalid child, who spent most of their time in the tower, overlooking Hobart).
It is not a very modern motel, and there is no couch or kitchen sink (most motels don't have these, anyway), but it is very comfortable, which makes up for that. It is about a five minute's drive to the CBD, and it has a big car park.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Room 8, which is in the inside part of the building, second nearest to reception, is newly renovated, and I stayed there for two nights last week. The heating is not very good, which is not good when it is cold, and the bathroom door doesn't close properly, but otherwise, it is nice and spacious, and suitable for a family of four.
The double bed is in the main part of the room, with two large windows, a TV, a table with chairs and a kitchen area and wardrobe. There is a door separating it from the other bedroom, which has two single beds and one TV.
One time, when we stayed in room 50 or 54 (I think it was 50), there were toenail clippings on the floor, and we had to get a vacuum from reception and vacuum them up. This is the only time it has not been very clean, and the staff were apologetic for it.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking about staying here.
