“A first-rate experience”

We stayed two nights with Mandy, our only regret is we didn't stay longer.

This is not a B&B, it is a more expensive as it includes breakfast and dinner. But it is well worth it as Mandy is a fabulous cook.

Seascape is a lodge built on one level. There are three guest rooms at one end, each with full glass walls towards the spectacular view. There is a large common area with living room, dining area and kitchen. Everything is tastefully decorated, a great place to hang around. The other guests left early so we checked out all the rooms. They are all the same, except for the end unit that is slightly larger as it is handicapped accessible.

Mandy and Paul run a tour company, Wilderness Tours, that will take you around the island. Very well done, great food, modern vehicles, high standards. They can also arrange pick-up and drop-off at the ferry so you can save money by leaving your car on the mainland.

Very accommodating hosts. The other couple staying there had two teenagers and Mandy was great with them, cooking things to their tastes.

If ever they figure out how to clone a B&B hostess, my recommendation is they start with Mandy. Helpful, energetic, friendly, and cooks up a delicious storm!

“Excellence All Around and the best meals we had in Australia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

Overall Kangaroo Island was the favorite part of our two week trip Down Under and the hospitality of Mandy and Paul at the Seascape Lodge have a lot to do with that sentiment. My review of the Lodge itself will simply echo all the other wonderful things past commentators have said. Mandy and Paul are wonderful and friendly and really great cooks to boot. Honestly, our meals with them were the best we had during our entire trip. Mandy even did some laundry for us and let us have a tube of salve to help ease the mozzy bites my daughter got while touring the island.

We were there for three three nights resulting in two full days of touring the island. We saw kangaroos, wallabies and koalas in the wild one day and got to pet and feed them in captivity the next. In fact, our guide lived up to his promise to show us so many kangaroos that we'd be sick of them. We saw fur seals and sea lions, and also managed to run across an echidna and a goanna.

The Remarkable Rocks were indeed, remarkable, as was the Admiral's Arch. Our lunches were first rate. Typically at the end of a full day tour I am exhausted and counting the minutes until we get back to the hotel. But here I found myself surprised that the day was coming to an end.

If you want to see the true wildlife that Australia is famous for...include Kangaroo Island on your itinerary. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer and explore it even more.

“Best Lodge on Kangaroo Island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

My husband and I spent 2 wonderful days at Seascape Lodge . This is an elegant and warm lodge with a magnificent view of Emu beach. The delicious meals of breakfast and dinner were expertly prepared by Mandy. Freshly baked muffins each morning ,sauted fish with rice and homemade desserts each evening were some of the menu items.
Each morning we were picked up by our terrific guide,Jim, who drove us around the island in a Land Rover,to view the wildlife of kangaroos, wallabies, fur seals and sea lions. The whole experience was an Australian safari.
Don't hesitate to bring your whole family with you when you come. This is a wonderful place and island for anyone who enjoys seeing animals in the wild. We even had lunch in a koala preserve where we could get close and pet these unique animals.
We loved every minute.

“Very enjoyable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2011

Mandy and Paul are very gracious hosts - they do all possible to ensure their guests have a outstanding stay with them. The property is first class, but without the pretensions of the larger venues, the food is superb utilising local produce where possible, the cleanliness and comfort is above reproach and even the walls are adorned with magnificent artwork from the local artisans. Would highly recommend to all.
