This hostel is not conveniently located. It is on the outskirts of town. A man slept in the door stoop next door each night and urinated on the sidewalk. After 7pm guests (and any of their acquaintances) can let themselves in with a key. The desk said it opened at 7am - but I know on Sunday morning it was still closed at 8:30 am.
The facilities are run down (broken shower knob not repaired for instance) and stunk of old cigarettes. It was not very clean - there were hairs, thick dust, etc. on the side table beside the bed (and the room "smelled" funky).
The other guests are very inconsiderate - and there aren't even any signs posted to suggest respect (or quiet after a certain time). A large party (music, squealing, shouting, arguing, etc.) was held on the balcony outside our room until well into the wee hours of Sunday morning - so much for a place to sleep - NOT!
We stayed 3 nights at $60 per night for two of us (in a small double bed) - there was no free cheesecake, no free rice, no free coffee, no free breakfast, and no free towels.
I'm not sure what other accomoadations Adelaide has... I wish they had a YHA there like the one in Melbourne.
