“see the best cellar doors in Australia's wine regions without going broke!”

Where to start? No really... where on earth do you start trying to pick wineries in a different country when all you know from the region is Yellow Tail, Blass and Penfolds? We live in California and I think that my wife has high standards when it comes to being a wine-tourist. So when we visited Australia I wanted a real wine tour, not some run-of-the-mill milk run around to all the well known places. I wanted to impress her with the backstage pass of wine tours to all the best places for Australian that we could cram into two days!

After days trying to research the Clare and Barossa regions thankfully a friend recommended Bums on Seats. BoS was really easy to deal with and had set prices so we knew what we were in for upfront. Paul our driver was simply amazing! He gave us the option to either pick the wineries we thought we might like OR let him show us the places he knew we'd enjoy.

Day one was Clare Valley - he asked questions and we talked all the way out to this region, and by the time we arrived he knew where we should go. It was a perfect day and we managed to squeeze in 6 excellent boutique "cellar doors" (Australian for tasting room).

Day two was Barossa Valley, and by now Paul had us figured out - so we went straight to work. The group was larger and moved slower so we were limited to 5 excellent wineries, we got to meet a few wine makers, had a second excellent lunch and even got to see some kangaroos along the way. At the end of the day we squeezed in a quick trip to Jacobs Creek (not counted in the 5 cellar doors!). At this point Paul was just showing off - letting us experience the stark differences between the boutique wineries we'd seen and a mega winery. The contrast was a great way to show us just how special our two days had been!

Don't get me wrong, BoS would surely have happily stopped at each of the well known wineries we drove past, and we're really glad they didn't!

Why thank you for such a wonderful review :)

I love all my customers and try to go the extra mile to make you all smile.

But every now and again, someone turns up a little funnier and smarter than me on tour.

I was shown up by you guys :) mostly had no reply except to giggle inside and out.

Great people glad to have you on board.

Thanks PK

If you want to have a great fun day, taste exceptional wines and have a laugh or two give Paul a call and I'm sure he will exceed your expectations as he did ours. Flexability is the name of the game with Paul and with all his local knowledge, his tour advise and information is top rate! Thanks again, hope we have the chance to do it all again next time we are in Adelaide.

I love me jokes and getting involved with my customers, they ( the Customers ) find it hard to to keep up with me, but I have had few really funny people.

I demand that if the wine maker is there that they say hello, introduce them selfs, I challenge you...., visit Kabminye Winery in the Barossa valley Krondorf Rd & meet Richard ( The Wine Maker ) and his wife ingrid or Craig Cellar door person ( Son In-law ) & then go to any of the big boys and be severe by cellar door person and you will give 11 - 10 for Kabminye and a 5 - 10 at the big boys.

Just pick the area and Paul will adapt the tour to suit, I did the Barossa Valley and because the group were not big wine drinkers more shoppers and gourmets we went to Maggie Beers and some local cheese and chocolate shops and still managed a winery for lunch and a winery/ function centre with shopping attached.

Husbands attended a conference while 12 partners/spouses spent a fantastic day in the hands of the driver/guide, the whole trip was impromptu but the driver came up with some excellent ideas, wineries choc factory shopping you get the idea.
Great day out from 8-30am to 4-30pm we highly recommend the company.

From a standing start, I am not affraid to make a phone call and say we are looking to visit you with our guests, some say what day did you want to book and I say today :) and they say ok fine when? and I say well we are just around the corner so 30 sec's & they love it because they ( the Venues) are NOT always busy..

& that's what Bums On Seats Is all about :)

We used Bums on Seats for a tour of the Barossa Valley for 11 people. The price was great and the best part was that we could choose where we wanted to go but also got some great advice from the driver. Very well organised and friendly service, would definitely use these guys again
