Wow where to start. We were only there for a surprise 40th! We all had a fantastic time. Staff were very helpful at Whitsunday Apartments Thankyou! We were on the 12th Floor such an amazing view. Very spacious rooms really good if you are taking the kids we will do that next time. Sorry Kids! Fully self contained so next time I would order food online with coles on the mainland prior to holiday and have it delivered to the hotel. Had access to buses which showed up every 15 min to take us down to Marina and there was 2 different ones that arrived every 40 min to take you around the island otherwise you can hire a buggy for the day. Plenty of activities or just laze around in the many swimming pools on offer. Definately stay there again. Really impressed!

Faciltities were excellent, the staff were so friendly and helpful , anytime of the day, we had to call down to reception a few times and it was no bother to them! We went with 9 couples to the Island to celebrate a 40th and we are all returning next year with our children!

Spent 5 days 4 nights on hamilton with my parents who are over visiting me from Ireland. They wanted to go to the barrier reef but werent keen on staying on a boat so I thought Hamilton would be a perfect option...and it was!
we got a great deal for the Whitsunday apartments and as it was off season we got upgraded to a sea view room. The apartment was fab with enough space to comfortably sleep 4 people. Staff were friendly and they have a lovely cold room downstairs with chilled water and tea/coffee. Its a great location with a shuttle bus stop outside the door.
The island wasnt as expensive as I thought coming from living in Sydney!!
We were able to choose between more reasonable restaurants like the Tavern, Mantra Cafe and Sails Restaurant, all of which were lovely with mains between 20-25$.
As we were self catering we were able to have breakfast on our balcony as breakfast out can be expensive although the breakfast with the Koalas in the wildlife park was a must!!
I was impressed with the amount of free things to do on the island though with all gym classes included and watersports so the use of kayaks,stand up paddles and sailing ur own catamarans...things you may not try when have to pay for them all! Theres fab bush walks which are well signed and mix between challenging and not so tough. There is also a free shuttle bus that goes around the whole island, the bus drivers are so friendly that it was like our own personal bus trip with getting loads of information about the island and he even stopped to let us take pics!
We did a trip with Fantasea to Great barrier reef - a great day out!well recommended for beginner snorkelling, not really recommended for experienced divers or those who want to see more or spend more time under water as it is pretty set up for beginners but this suited my parents fine.
We got great weather with everyday so that really made the trip, it was off season so it was pretty quiet at night but the was live music in the reef view and the tavern on a few nights.
Lovely relaxing getaway break for all ages!! Def will be back!

Spent 3 nights at this holiday apartment during my first trip out to the Whitsundays. Great accommodation. We stayed in a 1-bed apartment with garden view. Woke up every morning to amazing views of Catseye beach and the chirps of the cockatoos and rainbow lorikeets. Staff were very friendly and helpful especially Tara and Sam. Great facilities such as swimming pool, spa and the free Wi-Fi in the lobby lounge. The apartment was a bit dated but clean and well maintained overall.

Hamilton island is a great base to explore the Whitsundays: We spent an amazing day at the Great Barrier Reef doing snorkelling and diving. A must-do is the 10 minute helicopter ride to view the reef from the top. Simply breathtaking! Spotted the world famous Heart Reef as well. We also spent half day swimming at Whitehaven beach. Very beautiful!
