“Great views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

This hotel comes up trumps when it comes to the views you get at the top of the hotel. We were upgraded free of charge on our honeymoon and waking up to this view was simply stunning. The hotel lacks in a few area, no AC in the lobby or restaurant or bar which makes for a bit of an uncomfortable experience but just the sheer centrality of this place to everything makes it ideal. Having a golf buggy makes it very convenient to go everywhere. The bedrooms could be better and more modern but in the grand scheme of the island you will sleep there and get changed there nothing more.

Thank you all for making it an unforgettable experience.

“ok place but not complete luxury”

stayed here two weeks ago. Rooms were nice could of been cleaner, with good views, hotel looked nice but was nothing special. Gym was not air conditioned. Pools were ok but crowded. The beach was average nothing amazing. Quad biking was good fun as an extra so were the kayaks. The sail and snorkel to whitehaven aboard the cruise indigo was terrible, definitely do not book this. They take you to the worst side of whitehaven beach then to snorkel at a terrible area with hardly any fish. This was my second time to the whitsundays and was a massive dissapointment compared to last time.

the rest of the island was ok but very expensive as expected. Overall ok but definitely not a must see or worth the money if you are from the uk.

“Truely amazing”

I just got back from a 5 night stay (26th Jan-31st)with my husband at the Reef View Hotel, we were on level 17. The view is simply stunning and i could not get enough of it.
The staff are very helpful and friendly. The room is OK its def in need of a refurbishment and the bathroom is big but old, however it was worth it and I would stay there again.
Breakfast was incl in our stay which was good, you can eat breakfast at most resorts but they seem to be the same anyway.
Alot of people say its expensive around the island and they are correct, its very very expensive to eat and drink, we got sick of the food around the resorts, as the menu stays the same for lunch and dinner but the Steakhouse at the Marina is really good, we didnt rent a buggy- they want $1500 bond for it and they refund the bond within 3 weeks!! Pretty pathetic but we didnt really need one- the free shuttle bus is the way to go and most places are walking distance.
The beach across the road is good but there is jellyfish around the summer months so some people wear a sting suit. Snorkleing is a must!
We went on the triple place day tour (cant remember the name) it was excellent- Whitehaven Beach is AMAZING words cannot describe! Please visit it!!!
Overall my holiday was just amazing and i cant wait to go back and i would stay at Reef again!

“Big rooms and great views!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

My boyfriend and I are currently staying at the Reef View Hotel for 3 nights. Checking in was simple an easy and our luggage was brought to our room within 10 minute.

We are staying on the 17th floor and the view is absolutely beautiful. The room itself is very big and so is the bathroom for that matter. Both rooms are very clean.

Breakfast at Sails is fantastic so be sure to include breakfast in your package.

The hotel is not very far from Marina Village, therefore, we didn't feel the need to hire a golf buggy which at $85 a day is bit of a rort in my opinion. You may pay a few extra dollars for food and drinks on the island but I don't think it's as expensive as other reviewers have stated.

Overall, we have been very pleased with our stay at the Reef View Hotel and would happily reccomend this hotel.

“Sarah W from Derbyshire England "A little bit of paradise"!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

I stayed here on the 12th-16th January this year with my family, from some of the negative reviews on here I have to say I was a little bit pensive about what this hotel would be like! From the momment we jumped off the plane I knew instantly from the impeccable service from the resort staff that I neednt of worried. Check in was seemless and although we were a little early we were able to go to our room within an hour of arriving. I actually cried at the view from our room when I saw it- it really was truly magical, we had booked a garden view room and I wasnt expecting to have the view of the ocean outside my window! my daughters who are 8 and 17 were equally as impressed. The rooms are extremly spacious and very comfortable, the bathroom was huge and was very clean with quality amenities, replenished every day. We had not bought any beach towels with us but this was no trouble as the hotel provided fresh clean beach towels every day.

The staff at the hotel were extremley friendly and bent over backwards for us. We decided that as we had travelled so far to get to Hamilton Island that we would pack as much into our trip as possible. I highly recommend Fanta se cruise to the Reef, although very expensive we flew back to the island by helicopter which is an experience we will never forget and well worth the money. We went on the night time cruise and dine, the food was impeccable and although officially they do not cater for children under 10, my 8 year old daughter was well catered for and the star of the ship! We disappointly had to cancel our seaplane and hire of a dinghy due to bad weather, however because our stay at the Reef View included all watersports we still had things to do. We hired a buggy out but remember to take a drivers license as the golf carts on the island are a licensed veichle. It was great to have a choice of 3 places to have breakfast I can highly recommend breakfast with the Koalas this was a wonderful experience. At the Reef view the choice of breakfast is amazing and you can eat as much or as little as you like!

Yes this was a very expensive island, there is nothing cheap about it, however you are staying at what I would class a 5 star island and you sort of expect everything to be expensive before you go, so my advise to anyone looking at staying here is if you really want to enjoy this island make sure you save save save because all the experiences that you have here are unforgettable and well worth every penny you spend there!

I would definately go back here if I ever get the opportunity again.
