Stayed in a large room with double bed and three single beds, huge ensuite, tv, basic kitchenette and table / chairs - good for us (family of two adults and three children aged 5, 8, 9 for one night). This is the best value for 5 so close to city. We walked into the city centre and esplanade (only 1 - 1.5k) with Castle Hill up road. Would stay again but would need earplugs because road noise was loud. Clean and roomy, really good location, free parking - just outside road noisy.

it's funny when you read reviews, I bet the people writing on here paid under $80 For you & your family, I think Central City Motel is a great place, it's clean & the people are great, and the price is fantastic.

The room was large, very sparsley furnished old style TV that was bearly watchable.
The capet was very stained, very hot and stuffy, aircon extremley noisy.
Frankly I have stayed at better backpackers around the world. Staff not helpful.

Large size rooms with little furniture to fill the space. Old stained carpet, with tasteless decor, murky windows and shabby walls. Bathroom and toilet were ok however the hygiene seal was broken on arrival? Open Kitchen facilities incl mini fridge, sink & microwaves. Bed was comfortable but not the King size we were expecting.
Close to Townsville mall with easy access to the Strand and Flinders street. Limited Secure parking available free. Staff were not very good or pleasant. There were problems with our reservation.
Lovely refurb on the lobby and reservations desk shame none of that money went on giving the rooms a little bit of life.
All in all good value for under $100 a night, but had plenty better at a similar price.
