We stayed here for 6 wonderful nights and cannot recommend it highly enough. Located in Nelly Bay, it is a 10-15 minute walk from the Ferry terminal and only 30 seconds from the bus stop. Hosts Martin and Lorna have done a great job in restoring Kareeka Cottage and have provided everything you can think of. They live next door, but we only saw them when we went to them, and they were kind enough to offer and lend to us stinger suits as we are quite pale and burn easily (not because it's stinger season). The deep claw foot bath is heaven and we enjoyed eating our breakfast out the front, as well as drinks at sunset. At low tide, you can wander across the exposed reef right outside your door. In the evenings we enjoyed the 'night music' of the local birds and wildlife. Shops and restaurants are only a couple of minutes walk away, and the cottage is located right on the beach down a quite dead end road. Bliss!
