Surprisingly not many other choices in Townsville. Great location with the Ocean view rooms facing out to Magnetic Island, beautiful views.
The Deluxe rooms are worth the extra money, being much more comfortable and refurbished. The Bathrooms are very clean and well presented.
Room service choice is limited, but there are restaurants to choose from

Took advantage one of the Smoking Hot Summer Deals offered at Jupiters Townsville on the weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday. It included overnight accommodation with a king bed, a hot buffet breakfast for two adults in Aqua Restaurant, two $5 Match n Play Casino Vouchers and a $50 Food and Beverage voucher which we spent in Spin Cafe. Great value at $185 for the lot.
Our dinner in Spin Cafe was very good and we accompanied it with a lovely bottle of sauvignon blanc which was the only extra cost to us. We then headed for the casino area which resulted in a win before going up to our room where the bed was unbelievable comfortable. Breakfast in the morning had a wonderful and varied selection of foods, but the freshly made omelettes with your choice of filling are definitely high on my list.
The only negative was the fact that we had asked for a non-smoking room, but had to take one in the smokers section as there was none available in non-smoking with a king bed. The room was fine, but when you went into the corridor to go down in the lift, the smell of smoke was very heavy

Jupiters Hotel offered location and it certainly delivered that and magnificent views as well. While the property is not new it certainly was clean, well presented, and the front desk staff were very helpful. The buffet dinner represented great value for money - perhaps too great as it was very busy. The same area formed the breakfast dining venue and that was a more peaceful experience. All round the property provided great value for money at a perfect address.

I have been staying here for years and yes it did get very tired

The new executive rooms, however, are great, the service is good, the food (not Aqua) is good.

I received a welcome back gift of some crownies in an ice bucket and some chips which was a nice touch.
I am not sure if all rooms have been refurbed and it is perhaps worth asking to have a refurbed room
(with a magnetic island view of course )

Over all a nice clean hotel with good service and food
