Unfortunately I had to come down to Townsville from Cairns, we decided to bring the family along. We had rooms 308 and 306. I'm not sure what the other rooms are like but both of these are dated, although kept clean and tidy. We paid $279 per night. The biggest issue we had were children in the pool screaming and shouting at 7am on the Sunday morning, personally I feel the pool should open around 8:30am or 9am.
The hotel is in a good location.

We stayed for four nights on business as it was convenient and close to where G was having training. However.... the room was painted in an awful and depressing putty colour. The curtains and blind did not shut out the Motel's neon sign or the ambient outdoor light, so it was difficult to have a sound sleep. It was also easy to hear people partying both on the street and on their adjacent balconies. The fridge had a strange smell that we couldn't dispel. The room was spacious. The bed was comfortable but the air-condiitoning was difficult to get right. There were only a few clothes hangers so hard to set out clothes for several days. The Motel is across from the beach and the view is quite nice. There are cafes and restaurants nearby (Watermark and Jamaica Joe's were both good). It is about a $10 taxi ride to the City Centre and $20 to the airport. We think there are better places around.

Great staff, fantastic location but the room fitout is getting a bit tired. Rooms were still clean and comfortable just looking a bit dated

Townsville is like a big country town, brimming with friendly Nth Qld hospitality.The Strand is lovely and Waters Edge is the perfect, affordable location. All of the staff were great, after leaving home at 0330 and arriving in Townsville at 0930, we were intending leaving the luggage at Waters Edge until check-in time at 1400 but the room was ready and we were allowed early check-in. Fantastic!! Great room, clean, modern and comfortable, everything we needed for our short stay. Lots of restaurants, casino and city centre all within a short distance from Waters Edge, and of course the beautiful beach and perfectly maintained foreshore and walking paths just over the road. The sunrise each morning was stunning!! We were really happy with our accomodation and would definitely recommend staying at Waters Edge.
