“Broadbeach is a winner”

Great place to stay. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment (no. 26) which was modern and well presented.

Gold coast is a windy place and being one 'row' back from beachfront made balcony a little less windy. Very few people in beachfront apartments use balconies in afternoon.

Room highlights are- 2 large flat screen TVs, 2 bathrooms (en suite brand new), new washer and dryer, Induction cooktop, sofa bed, airconditoned, plenty of pillows, fans in all rooms and large living area.

Property highlights - tennis court, 2 pools, spa, gym, sauna, games room, secure parking and helpful staff.

Outside pool was warm enough for kids and inside pool got plenty of use on bad weather days.

Short walk to broadbeach shops (though might need a bus for large grocery shop) and 20 mins walk to heart of surfers.

Will stay here again and highly recommend.

Room Tip: Level 6 is high enough to get a good view, yet sheltered from the constant winds and near enough to...

“Best place on the Gold Coast, by FAR”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

I chose the Biarritz to have my 30th birthday week with 14 friends. We hired out a 3 bedroom and 2 2 bedroom basic apartments for 5 days. The value for money was incredible.
The staff were AWESOME, they make you feel so welcome and nothing is ever a problem.
The BBQ area is fantastic for entertaining and you can really have some fun in the pool while relaxing with a few beers in the entertaining area.
The tennis court is awesome and you can borrow balls and rackets for free :)

The apartments themselves were anything but BASIC! They were great, perfect for families or friends, fully functional, and with AMAZING outlooks to the beach. 10 minute walk to Broadbeach for breaky or the shops, you can't beat the locations. 2 minutes and you are in the ocean! We used a total of 4 apartments of the 5 days and ALL of them were special.

Thanks again to all the staff at the Biarritz, what wonderful memories I will have of our stay there, we will be back!!!

Room Tip: Face the ocean and go up high!!! We were on the 14th floor, lush!

“Bad Customer Service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Let me make it clear that the property is well appointed and the refurbished rooms are well set, although if the upkeep is maintained the property would have faired much better in my opinion.

Got a 2 Bedroom Apartment where one room's ceiling hardly worked. The entire apartment had just one Air Conditioning Unit which meant at peak of summer (i.e. high 30's temperature everyday) you need the air conditioning running literally 24 hours a day.

But when you air conditioner floods the lounges due to it leaking water, it definitely does not count for a comfortable stay as neither can you use the air conditioner nor can you stay without it.

What probably made it worse was that we stayed for 7 days and throughout the stay the Management could not arrange for servicemen to come rectify this issue originally the excuse was it was Christmas which ideally as an emergency backup they should still have some point of contact should the need be. But none the less we gave them the benefit of waiting till after christmas as requested by the Management.

Not only did no one turn to fix our A/C we constantly had to mop up the floor by ourselves even though the Management had seen the extent of flooding that the A/C would do... no courtesy service to come mop up the floor and upon checkout we were expected to pay the full price no acknowledgement for our inconvenience. None the less I left a message for the Manager to give us a call so that I could take this matter further up.

Till date being almost 30 days after our stay neither have I recvd any follow up call and my credit card has been charged the full amount.

Quite disappointed especially given the fact on the first day given the set out I was envision checking out an apartment for sake of an investment... so here is a heads up even when the management knows that there is a potential investor they don't give a damn let alone leaving me clueless to their service given you would a mere guest...

“This place has many things going for it”

My husband booked this place in error. He had a whole lot of tabs open, we decided on one, then he managed to book the wrong one. We had left our run far too late anyway so for the circa $200 per night we were wanting to pay, there wasn't anything I was particularly enamoured with anyway, so we just kept the booking.

The apartment we stayed in was very roomy. It had two bathrooms, two bedrooms, lots of living space and a decent sized balcony. The kitchen was great, modern oven, dishwasher, fridge and loads of kitchenware.

Location was fine, close to the beach, a few restaurants within the general vicinity and not too far to Broadbeach.

Facilities were pretty good and well maintained, as was the apartment in general.

Staff were friendly and helpful.

For me personally, decor is generally a deciding factor on where I choose to stay. I was aware that the Biarritz was a bit eighties and so wouldn't have chosen to stay there and on my own personal scale would have only given it a three, however, for many people I realise decor doesn't come into the equation, so have given it a four. The apartment we were staying in had had some of the decor updated, the ensuite was modern, the kitchen was pretty modern and some of the furniture had been updated. There was still terribly garish couches and doona covers, lots of archways, curving walls with mirrors and the shower screen was made of that browney-yellow plastic that was so popular in the eighties. The main bedrrom also didn't have proper curtains (just those vertical fabric blinds) so we were woken early by the sun. Everything was very clean and well maintained though.

“great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

We have stayed here twice now and have enjoyed both times. The apartment had everything we needed and was clean and tidy. The outdoor pool is nice but the indoor is great, the gym a bit small but theres the beach very close for walks. The buses are easy to catch with just a walk out the gate turn right then right again and you will see the bus shelter just there. The kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking utensils, pots, fryingpans e.t.c.
