“nice bed however found front desk staff unfriendly and unhelpful.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

While the bed was very comfortable we found front desk staff unfriendly and unhelpful. Also lower city entry close at 1am which forced us to walk through train station and back streets to reach main entry. We felt quite uncfortable as we had to pass a lot of homeless and drunk people. This was our third stay and our experience have been the same each time. We wouldn't have picked sofitel but bought a mystery deal purhased from wotif. we'll pick another hotel next time.

Bonjour ReevesGoldCoast,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay. I was disappointed to read that we did not meet your expecations on this occassion and apologise for the inconvenience caused.

You raise a valid point regarding the second entrance into the hotel being closed at 1am and will certainly investigate the options available to us. As we are situated above the Central train station and are the biggest hotel in Brisbane these doors are locked as a means of security to both our guests and ambassadors. I will follow this up with our Chief Engineer and hope to have an appropriate resolution.

I was sorry to read taht you found the desk staff unfriendly and helpful, this is not a usual occurance and will be followed up immediately with our Front Office Manager. Sofitel Brisbane often receives wonderful comments about our ambassadors and their high standard of service so of coarse resolving this is an immediate priority to the hotel. Please accept my sincere apologies.

Although your stay was not up to the standard expected please rest assured that your feedback will be used to ensure our guests continue to receive the highest standards. Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback.

I hope to welcome you back to the hotel soon.

Merci

“Better places to stay than here”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

We arrived late for an overnight stay and had to go first thing in the morning. Was shocked at the $45 car parking fee on checkout. It used to be $10. This is just taking the mick. Left with a sour taste in my mouth. I will not be returning

Bonjour,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.

I was disappointed to read that the carparking charges left a sour taste in your mouth. You will be happy to know that we do have some wonderful packages that include the cost of breakfast and parking which may be a more suitable option for you.

The carparking entrance states that parking will incur a charge with the cost of parking per hour indicated. The carparking price is based on the standard Brisbane CBD carparking rates and is unfortunately beyond our control. I certainly appreciate your comments and will ensure your feedback is taken on board. Of coarse the hotel itself is just above the Central train station which is of great convenience and may be of assistance to you.

Once again thank you for your feedback. We hope to welcome you back to the hotel in the near future.

Merci
