On our recent relocation to Brisbane from Perth we stayed at Novotel Brisbane for 2 nights whilst we awaited our furniture to arrive. We are Accor Gold Members and booked a Premium King Room. The Accor Gold pretty much is meaningless in Novotel properties anyway and Sofitel Brisbane does not accept the A Club membership therefore you do not receive the benefits.
Travellers, be advised that the rooms in this hotel are extremely small and pokey for what they charge for this room category and they are exactly the same room size as the standard rooms. The only difference between these two room categories are the amenities (King Premier have a Nespresso machine, ipod dock, bathrobes and are located on the premier floor 13 and 14). On the positive the customer service is very good (Novotel Brisbane Airport ) could learn a lot from this hotel.
The hotels bathrooms all have bath over shower/no separate shower (including executive suites) excluding accessible rooms specifically designed for people with physical disabilities.I do not consider this to be modern contemporary design in regards to hotel style, especial the vinyl planks on the bathroom floors. The rooms are decorated "contemporary" but not to a high finish. (especially bathrooms).
For a 4.5 (self rated) property there is also no bell service to assist you with the bags on arrival but the duty manger was kind enough to bring a trolley and deliver our bags after we went into reception and asked. There is also no luggage rack in the rooms and the TV in our room 1302 was located in a ridiculous spot and do not swivel, again cheap mounting brackets, an example of the low level finish of these rooms.
The Lobby of the hotel and bar area are extremely well presented, very clean and the facilities are great. If it is space you want definitely do not recommend this hotel.
The King Bed was reasonably comfortable and the housecleaning was acceptable.
It is an average hotel which is quite expensive, make sure you look around because you can certainly do better in Brisbane.
We will not stay at this property again as there are much better out there for the same price.
Room Tip: There are suites but they are not large, the are called executive suites.

Dear Champagne4everyone,
It is with disappointment I read that your recent stay with us did not meet your all your expectations.
As you have noted the hotel is rated 4.5 stars and we are proud to have been re-accredited by AAA. I am sorry to read that you found the rooms to be small, they are 28 square metres and are comparable to other hotels in Brisbane. In addition the hotel has undergone a recent $12 million dollar refurbishment which included all new finishings.
While our Premier Room are similar in layout to standard rooms they offer additional value with extra amenities including complimentary internet, Nespresso machine, bathrobes and slippers and complimentary daily newspaper.
Thank you again for your feedback.
Kind Regards
Ben Patten
