“Run away...run far far away”

Booked this hotel over the internet as a one night stop over between flights. I think I might have rather slept in the airport! We checked in and moved to room 8 on the first floor. I had booked a queen room, but got a multiple bed room. The air con wasn't working, the fan in the toilet was broken, the sink stopper broke. The young man at the desk said he'd be right up to fix the sink and when he hadn't arrived 30 minutes later, I went and asked him again. He couldn't fix the sink and apologized for the fan not working. He promptly showed up with new key and we moved next door to room 9. The stopper worked in the sink, but it wasn't needed anyway because the sink didn't drain. There was still no fan in the toilet and we had another bed! We ate in the in-house restaurant and were quite underwhelmed with the quality and selection of meals. Overall, this is one of the poorest quality Best Western Hotels I have ever stayed in.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us recently and thank you for your comments. All these areas of maintenance have been inspected and attended to as we are very keen to always offer fully operational accommodation as all times. I understand it is disappointing to rest calmly when your accommodation is not to your satisfaction, especially when travelling for many hours. I hope if we have another opportunity to accommodate you and this will be a happy experience. Kind regards, The Manager of the Airport Hacienda Best Western Motel.

“An overpriced dump!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 March 2011

I stayed at this motel after a work colleague booked it for me online. I travel all over the world regularly and I was horrified that a motel like this should be located near the airport, where visitors to Australia might be led to believe that this is what is on offer to them. I paid Aud$143 to stay here and in my opinion it was a $85 motel at best. I am not sure if the fact that you have to walk up two flights of stairs with bags is a ploy to ear you out in the hope that you won't notice all the other shortcomings, but if it is, it didn't work for me. The non smoking room I booked reeked of a stale ashtray. The bed was hard as nails and I could hear the person in the next room use the shower, cough, speak on the phone through the paper thin walls. Fortunately, the sound of the trucks drowned out any other noises my neighbour may have emitted! The tv reception was fuzzy and there was one tiny soap on offer. When I went to have my breakfast, I discovered that almost every piece of cutlery was dirty. On check out the receptionist tried to charge me for non existent Internet usage and when I asked to have my credit card details deleted from the system I was told not to worry as you need a password to be able to access them.

Hello and thank you for posting your comments. I find it very disappointing you did not enjoy your recent stay. My only query is our premise building is of very thick concrete though out including all adjoining guest room walls. This provides very private space for each guest room. So perhaps you have mistaken your stay with another motel in the area. We do enjoy a very high return guest rate and our daily mission is to ensure all our guests are happy and comfortable during their stay. Kind regards, The Manager of the Airport Hacienda Motel.

“Comfortable for an overnight stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 February 2011

I will caution that the hotel is a way more tired and weary than the online pictures illustrate. This is not to say it's awful, it's just basic. The overall hotel has a 'motel' like feel and doesn't feel that it has been updated since the 80s. As other travellers have mentioned, given there are no stairs, it can be a hassle if you're travelling with a lot of luggage.

Having said all of this, the service from the front desk was a highlight. The girl at reception helped book (and subsequentlyn modify) my cab booking for the next morning and also happily held my luggage at reception whilst I was out at meetings but had already checked out.

Probably not the place to stay for a week, but as an overnighter, it did the job.

Hello and thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay with us. I have advised our Reception Managers of your positive comments regarding their service - thank you. As you have mentioned, our building exterior is an older style, so we constantly work to upgrade the interior of our rooms to keep them modern for our guests. Enjoy your travels and we hope to have the opportunity to accommodate you again. Kind regards, Manager of the Airport Hacienda Best Western Motel in Hamilton.

“The Pits!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2011

We arrived at this hotel thinking we would be staying in a pleaseant 3 star hotel local to the Airport. How wrong we were!!! Its a 8 - 9 Km drive from the airport. On arrival I thought I had arrived at a backpackers hostel! The reception was very untidy and dated in decor. We arrived at about 8.30 pm to be told that the restaurant was closed. The receptionist on duty did manage to get the chef to agree to cook us a meal - he should not have bothered! We were served up a concoction that was called Lasagne & Chips. It was like trying to eat cardboard with hollow chips. We complained to the waitress and we hold our hands up to the fact that the chef did come to our table and said he would not charge us for the food.
The room was very basic and tidy, but it was dusty in areas. We were at the front of the hotel so there was a lot of traffic noise but you expect that when you are on a main road.
Went to sleep hungry after a day travelling and then guess what?? When we awoke to go down to breakfast at 8.20 - it was closed!!! Apparently breakfast is served 6.30 - 8.30
Would never stay in this place again. BEWARE!!

Thank you for providing your comments regarding your recent stay with us. It is certainly a great shame our chef was not able to satisfy your tastebuds on the eve of your stay. As we did not meet your expectations, your meals were provided free of charge. Our aim is to provide a happy and successful stay for all our guests so we are also disappointed for you. Our restaurant opens from 6:45am until 9am for breakfast and 6pm to 8:30pm for dinner. The only days the restaurant has limited hours is on Public Holidays and we notify all our guests upon arrival during these couple of days of the year (ie. Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Australia Day 26th Jan). The Airport Hacienda Motel is a 3.5 star AAA rated property signifying a comfortable mid-range motel. As our name suggests, our motel was built with a Spanish theme. We are located 5 and 7 kms from the international and domestic Brisbane Airports and 5km from Brisbane CBD. Kind regards, The Manager, Airport Hacienda Motel.

Thank you for providing your comments regarding your visit to Brisbane Airport Hacienda Motel recently. It is disappointing to hear our property was not suitable for you. Perhaps you were looking to stay at a 5 star hotel and not aware we are a 3.5 star rated motel with a licensed restaurant, tennis court and pool. Nevertheless, your visit to Brisbane coincided with the worst flood natural disaster Brisbane has ever seen. Our location near the airport was high and dry and very fortunate for our guests. However, the rest of Brisbane inner city suburbs were severely flooded only days prior to your arrival and the subsequent stench from the after floods was unpleasant to say the least for all of Brisbane. We wish you well in your travels. Kind regards, Manager Airport Hacienda Motel
