Went to Brisbane for the weekend.Arrived late Friday Night, reception was closed but no problems keys were left in a night box with easy instructions.Had booked a one bedroom apartment off the internet and was very happy...unbelieveably clean, bedlinen and matress were in near perfect condition.Kitchen was spotless as was the bathroom.Reception staff were very friendly as was the staff in the cafe, had a fabulous breakfast and caught up with friends...made us eggs benedict even though not on menu!! Large balcony and both lounge room and bedroom are air conditioned. There is a supermarket within walking distance...very handy. all in all had a great stay.

“Worst Hotel EVER”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2011

We booked at this hotel as we were going to a wedding and several persons in the wedding party had booked to stay. I booked on-line through the hotels website which asked me for an ETA, I input 12pm (2 hours after their check out time). Upon arrival after 12pm I was told that there was not a room available and we would need to wait half an hour. As the hotel is in the middle of nowhere and it was raining we thought we might have a coffee in the hotels cafe, we were told (not so politely) that the cafe is closed during the day??? So we had no choice but to sit in the foyer, the foyer with not one newspaper. Luckily some friends staying at the hotel arrived and we could use their room whilst we waited for ours. The half hour passed, then an hour, so we rang reception and were told we would still have to wait another 15 minutes. We waited, finally I went to the foyer and found the staff checking in other guests (I figure a phone call to me or a room was not a priority). I spoke to the original staff member who promised to call, imagine my suprise that she had no idea who I was and I had to provide my details again. I asked why they ask an ETA on their website when they obviously take no notice, I was then directed to a policy of a 2pm check in and some general arguing. I asked why other guests had been given a room before me when I had been waiting longer, this really wasn't answered. So we get a room finally and find it is a nice room, well furnished and appointed (shame about the hospital grade sheets). About 9.30pm we arrived back at the hotel from dinner to find a party was happening in the neighbouring room, the base and screaming was so loud we may as well have been at the party. I rang reception at 9.55pm and was told something would be done about it, ten minutes later when nothing had happened I rang again. Unfortunately this 4 star hotel closes reception at 10pm and I spoke to an afterhours service. Despite their apparently being a manager on site they would not disturb him and I was directed to call the local Police about the noise. I could not believe that a hotel would want to waste the time of the Police for something they could easily deal with, besides which I would have had to wait downstairs for the Police to even let them in. So I had to almost bash down the door and fight with the neighbouring room about their noise. I complained the next morning and asked for another room so we didn't have to endure the next nights party. This was met with a nothing apology followed by a statement about not being able to move us as they were booked out, followed by a claim they would call?? the room and tell them to be quiet (I doubt their ability to follow through on anything).
Mind you, if you do use the cafe when it's open for breakfast be sure to ask for your coffee hot, i'm still not sure how I managed to get a cold cappuccino.
I have travelled extensively and this is by far the WORST hotel and I fail to see how it obtained a 4 star rating. This is 4 star going on 2 star.

“Nice spacious rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2011

Hotel Chino is in a good loaction with access to the M3 and Clem7. It looks fairly new and the rooms are very clean, with a large bed and plenty of room in the bathroom, large shower but no bath. You have to pay for broadband internet (around $20 a day). Parking (free) is underneath in a secure carpark. I only had breakfast which has a limited menu. A few minor bugs, the safe in the room could not be opened althougu it is a good size (if you could use it). The paper was only delivered on one of the 2 days, although you could pick it up at breakfast. The rooms are only serviced every 4 days, so if you stay less than that, you wont get a serviced room. There is a fridge but no mini bar - you can purchase drinks etc at the front desk, but there is a good shopping centre just up the road (5 minute walk).

“Potentially good hotel let down by austerity measures”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2011

I've stayed here four times and in the past there used to be someone on reception 24 hours. Now the reception is closed at 10pm and you must check in before this time or rely on the unreliable phone service after hours for assistance. On my arrival this time there were three stressed ladies who were not able to check in and I had to let them into the reception so they could safely call the reception and attempt to get their keys which were locked in the safe outside.

Hotel is clean and new and tidy, and has most amenities.

However on my first night the internet was unable to be ordered or the pay movies with the systems saying these were restricted. Next day this restriction was removed and I was able to access the internet. I wish the management would understand that to be called a hotel you really need to offer 24 hour assistance and you certainly need to service the rooms more than once every 4 days!

The restaurant isn't even open all day and forget about room service.

I was wondering why my rooms wasnt serviced until I read the guest handbook which stated rooms were serviced every 4 days! But there is no laundry in the standard rooms so how are you supposed to clean your towels? According to the handbook you are supposed to take your dirty towels down the ground floor laundry where you must ignominiously wash and dry them! So that just about cancels the place our for anything other than backpackers.

A small cockroach was found running around the bathroom late at night which I suspect came from one of the drains and hopefully was an isolated incident.

A vending machine downstairs would be useful as there is no convenience store close by.

“Definitely not a 4 star hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2010

This is definitely not 4 star hotel - I stayed in a standard room for 3 nights, and my room was not made up once during the stay. The room and bathroom were tiny and the shower could have been cleaner. Although the hotel website states that each room has an iron and ironing board, my room had neither and when I rang reception to request one I was told to use the laundry room on the ground floor. When I pushed the point and asked to have an iron brought to the room, the girl at reception complained "But I'll have to search the whole hotel to find one..." I did eventually get to iron my clothes but, overall, I dont think the standard room at this hotel was good value for money.
