I stayed at the Point Residences for one night in the aftermath of the Chilean ash cloud debacle (do the Australian Met Office know how far Chile is away from Oz?) and they coped well with the confusion of guests checking in and out, not knowing when they might get away etc etc.
As has been stated before, the TV is quite small but that's not too important, is it?

It had plenty of channels, as far as I could make out, anyway.
My bed was fine; it is a long flight out there from the UK so I was exhausted but, even so, it seemed comfy enough.
Other bits and pieces were as described but there is a convenience store, down by the river, underneath the block, to pick up food, washing powder, dishwasher tabs etc. if you're staying longer than a few nights
I ate in the restaurant in the main hotel though where the food was good and the waiting staff attentive.
If you don't want to eat there then there's a little restaurant/bar on the dockside, next to the convenience store... there's a hairdresser down there and a bottle store too.
The sun beams into the apartment's balcony and it was quite lovely sitting out there in the afternoon, reading a book, supping a cold six pack and (just about) watching the traffic on the river..
If you do want to go into town, as described, it's not far to the ferry. If you walk the other way there are supermarkets (open between 0600 - 2359), post office, bottle stores, pharmacy etc all within ten minutes. A proper boozer as well with big TV's if you like watching sport whilst imbibing.
All in all it was a relaxing and pleasant stay.

This is a nice place.
We had room 17 and the view was OK and the place pretty clean. The TV was one of those small 14” old CRT models and apart from 4 channels of sport there was not much else in the way of choices, just local TV and one movie channel.
One big problem is they only clean the room once a week. They only give you two small thin cheap bath towels, one set of sheets that are on the bed (no spares), 2 dish washing liquid sachets, one toilet roll and two dishwasher sachets. This sounds a bit petty but when you stay three or more nights (we stayed for 9 night) it means you have to buy supplies that you cant use up before you leave, it is more geared to an overnight stay not a week or so.
I would have thought for $165 a night you would at least get a couple of extra toilet rolls and the sheets changed every second or third night not make you do the washing and cleaning. It is a shame because with just a little effort and extra money they could make this place a really nice place to stay

I joined my husband at The Point Residences for a long weekend after he had previously booked in for business purposes. earlier in the week. The residences are managed from The Point hotel up the road so check-in and check-out where done at the Hotel. The apartment itself was self contained with full kitchen and seperate bathroom with shower and hand basin, Living room, Laundry and bedroom. Very spacious with large balcony, lovely. The bed however, I found a little uncomfortable, I think it needed to be replaced as I didn't enjoy the springs digging in! The TV was very small, but who goes away to watch TV?
The location is fantastic, just a short walk to the ferry ,you can just about get anywhere you want to go around the city easily.also close by .beautiful walk ways around the river.
Their was some confusion as to what day we were checking out, Hotel error, not ours. We received two calls on the Monday asking when we were checking out, both times it was explained we were departing on the Tuesday. Tuesday morning we had a cleaner knocking on the door well before check out time to clean the room. Obviously their is some communication break down between the hotel and the residences. Something I'm sure management will work on. All in all our stay was a plesant one and the management did waive the cost of 2 drinks we had at the bar at hotel for our inconvenience. Only after my husband asked. I think this is a good choice for a stay in Brisbane.
