“Exclusive bush camping at Brooloo Park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

Recently stayed 3 nights at Brooloo Park, approx 1.5 - 2 hours north west of Brisbane. We were attracted by the ads that show the beautiful bush setting, the working cattle station and the seclusion of the camp sites. The property is approx 280 Acres, and has about 7 camp sites. So you have total privacy and seclusion in a beautiful queensland bush setting (our site was wrapped by the creek, with a fresh water lagoon for some cooling off.) The host Vince is great and offers insight into the life on the property as well as offering horse/pony rides and demonstrations for the kids. Fires are welcomed and plenty of firewood is provided. You can go up to the homestead area at dusk and take a hot shower for $1 and have a chat to Vince and the staff, other wise you have total privacy. We absolutely loved the place and it will be our number 1 bush camping option from now on.

1 tip - we bought everything (meat, drinks etc.) to cover the whole stay, but there is a little country town just 5 minutes drive away that has a pub, a butcher and a general store, so you could really turn up with a lot less then we did and enjoy the local produce. Overall - this place is fantastic.

“A once in a lifetime experience...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

I have stayed on Brooloo Park for 4 weeks. I worked with the horses, did the ponyrides for the kids and joined Vince on the trailrides. For me it was a wonderfull place to stay! I loved the way Vince was working with the horses. The location is beautiful, with the creek, the forest and all the animals. It's a peacefull place to stay.
Don't miss it!!

“Beautiful spot for bush camping”

Recently stayed at Brooloo Park for 4 nights with my family and a number of other families. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole bush camping experience. Beautiful location on the creek and complete peace and quiet. The kids had a great time feeding the animals, everyone had a great time around the communal fireplace each night and the star gazing was excellent. Platypus were spotted in the creek whilst kayaking and every night we were visited by a number of bandicoots, bilbies and possums. What more could you ask for?

“Authentic experience and warm hosts”

I have stayed at Brooloo Park on several occasions. The working nature of the property, the beautiful setting by the creek and the enthusiasm of the host, Vince, is authentic and a taste of real Queensland country life. Horse riding for the kids is excellent, with safety and a great experience the priority. On both visits i've made there have been several organic workers from all parts of the globe staying and working on the property and the cultural discussions are interesting and rewarding as the realisation of how special this part of the world is, on a global scale, are brought right back to home!
