A recent stay was made delightful by helpful staff who got a pleading email me for a birthday cake at 5pm on the day of our arrival ... Not only did they find me a cake for my daughter, but supplied it with candles, balloons, a card and champers for mum & dad! On top of this, it was a complimentary service ... really thankful for the assistance I received, it was awesome!

As others have said, not the newest rooms around but everything we needed was there, basic mini bar and bathroom with bath and separate shower, all very clean and air conditioning worked well and was quiet ... I thought it was very well priced also, having stayed in other Darwin hotels for business trips that we're much more expensive and definitely not better.

While the rooms are quite tired, the beds and pillows are very comfortable. The staff were fantastic, very friendly nothing was to much trouble and they always had a smile on their faces. Food and service were very good. Free undercover parking is a bonus.

Stayed a night in King Suite. As others have said, it was like being transported back to the 80's with the decor and tvs, but I understand a refit is on the cards. It was low season so the staff levels were low, but they were still pleasant and helpful. Pool is a good size, pity it's looking a bit sad with tiles off in places. Overall, it was a good experience. For Darwin, it's probably above average. Breakfast was typical buffet style but was very happy with the 'order eggs how you like'. A young bloke had us poached eggs in a jiffy - didn't have to put up with the usual fried or runny scrambled stuff you usually get at most hotels.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times and I quite like it. YES the rooms are old and YES the rooms have tube TV's BUT it's all about the service! I cannot fault their service.

On my last stay I had a problem with ants in my room and I rang reception and a man was sent up straight away and fixed the prob and cleaned up after himself. On the same night I had a problem with my TV and remote, the same guy was sent up to help and he was very friendly and was not put out at all.

The food is quite good, but I ate all my meals in my room. The pool area is really nice to look at.

They lobby is big, light and spacious. The parking is free!!! That's always a plus for me.

The only things I don't like are the hard beds and instead of curtains the windows have clunky shutters. The worst thing of all is the air conditioning. FREEZING! It's like the control on the wall doesn't work!
