Firstly I must commend the staff for making our stay most enjoyable, pleasant and easy. Especially Simon - he could not have done more for us and arranged all our tours with impeccable attention to detail. He even gave us a taxi voucher and free drinks when somehow our breakfast box didn't happen.

The location is excellent and it's worth paying for the harbour view.

I must however, say that the hotel is tired and in need of an overhaul. It needs a good paint inside and out and the beds were old and saggy. Not what you expect from a hotel of this type.

Again, I must say that the staff made up for the flaws.

We are locals but decided to have a 2 night getaway in the city, so we booked into the Crowne Plaza, Mitchell Street. We stayed New Years day and the following day. Staff were very friendly. Room was nice and big, clean, decent size TV, everything was good. Plenty to choose from for Breakfast, great coffees. We would stay again for sure.

The Crowne Plaza Hotel was a nice place to stay. The lobby is big and makes a nice first impression. The buffet breakfast area was well maintained. The room was nicely maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was good; better than most places we stayed on our trip to Australia. It was well located for permitting walking to the park, the shore line, restaurants and shops. We stayed two nights with a break in-between to go overnight to Kakadu National Park. And you can received Priority Club points. Internet is available in the lobby at a small cost. It is close by WWI and WWII monuments, including a USA WWII monument. A great spot for sunsets.

The Holiday Inn Crown Plaza has great friendly staff that can't do enough to help during your visit. The rooms are modern and well mantained and the leasure facilities are what you would expect for a 4 star hotel. When we stayed a Cyclone was heading for Darwin and the staff kept everyone well informed and explained exactly what would happen if it did hit (fortunately it didn't hit). The location is central and great for dining out.
