We stayed for a few nights at double bed room, just at the beginning of our travel in North&West Australia. So maybe it was the change of climate and jet-lag, that we weren't very pleased with this hostel.
The room was small, with ugly, broken furniture and dirty curtains. The window faced the common area outside, so we heard all the conversations in the middle of the night (and morning) from our fellow travelers. We had a small fridge in the room, which was a big plus!
Toilets and showers were outside (which is OK) and should be cleaned more often, also a bit of plumbing work should be done.
Breakfast was nice, with fresh fruit an a lot of spreads, cereals, tea, coffee, milk etc. Lots of kitchen utensils which were a bit worn, dish towels dirty.
The staff was friendly and helpful, we could book all the tours from the front desk.
Location of the hostel is excellent, at the beginning of Mitchell Street, on the edge of the centre.
Since Darwin isn't very big, I was surprised at the number of hostels and I think it's not hard to find a better one than Dingo Moon Lodge.
