Do not stay at this place unless you are prepared to be left stranded in the desert! This is no joke. I'm a well travelled 30 year old woman and contacted the owner of this place to make a reservation. He was upset (due to the time zone difference) that I called him so late and said call back at a decent hour and hung up in my ear. Ok, so I'm not accustomed to these serviced apartments to not be run 24hrs like a hotel. I let that one slide and thought ok, no one is there 24/7 and this number posted must be his home line. I looked at their website and of course the site makes this serviced apartment look really nice with all these great amenities including a pool. I book online and think all is well. My father and I arrived by airport shuttle at 6:15pm, Feb 1st 2008 and as we're pulling up I think wow what a dump! It looks nothing like the pics on the net. Granted many things could be deceiving so fair enough. We get off the shuttle and he pulls away. We walk up to reception to find the door locked. Keep in mind I've now discovered that a lot of places close reception early in this town but the sign said they were open until 7p.m...so why was the door locked and no one there at 6:15?? It says to call a certain number if no one is there so I'm left standing outside this place with bags while my dad finds a phone to call. My dad comes back to tell me that this guy hung up on him and isn't showing up. He was VERY RUDE and was upset we even bothered to call and disturb him. He gave my dad crap and said they were closed and to press the buzzer by the door if it's locked. My dad says well why does the sign say closed at 7pm and we're here at 6:15 and there is no buzzer on the door? So this rude man, whom I already had one rude experience with, hangs up on my dad and leaves us stranded outside this place with no where to go. Talk about extremely poor service!!! This guy should not be in the hotel/serviced apartment business. I found out later that some locals said it was a good thing we didn't stay there because it's a dump and he isn't the most friendly person...no kidding! The outdoor so called "pool" was no bigger than a kiddie pool and this is not a place of good location. It's the 2nd furthest accomodation from downtown and believe me, you want to be some what close to downtown. Do not stay here! My dad and I were forced to lug our bags about a mile, exhuasted and in terrible desert heat after a long flight before we found something and this owner had no care for our wellbeing. We ended up in the best hotel with the best amenities, staff and service...the All Seasons Oasis but that's a separate blog to write.
