As a regular visitor to Alice Springs I always stay here. Staff turnover seems to be quite high, but is more a reflection of the industry in Alice. Nevertheless they are quite good, and this is still the best hotel in town. Hanuman's Restaurant is fantastic, but a separate entity to the hotel (others in Darwin and Cairns). Management is on the ball and makes a big effort to ensure that everything runs smoothly, and is prompt in fixing up errors. However the rooms are starting to look tired and do need refurbishing.

We did stay two nights in this hotel, the situation is perfect, located just a 10 min walk to the center of the city.

It's a really nice place to stay and the big plus is the Thai restaurant who is delicious, we also ordered a meal in our room and it was good too.

The pool is great, there is even a peacock who fashions around.

Well we stayed here for only one night, but I think that suited me pretty well. The room was kind of not clean (although I am a bit of a clean freak), there was someone else's hair in the bathroom :-/ The outside balcony had nice views of the ranges and the thousands of cigarette butts on the grass below. The TV had my man's name stuck on the screen permanently, and as much as I love him, he was getting in the way of my viewing pleasure. He and the little one went in the pool for the afternoon (which, by the way looked very pretty) and the next day both had mysterious rashes on their behinds along with upset tummies. Anyway, I'd highly recommend the Thai restaurant in the lobby, the food was gorgeous and the waitress quite endearing in her lovely, inexperienced way. She was very sweet.

I feel a bit mean for giving this a 3 out of 5 because in context it's good (some of the places I stayed in central Australia were terrible) but it just is about 20 years behind the rest of the world.

The good
The staff are excellent, which is a credit to the general manager, who is always around serving guests and leading her team by example. She does the best she can.
The pool seemed really nice although I didn't have a chance to use it.
Rooms service was good and not bad value.

The bad
The rooms need a refurbishment badly, particularly the bathrooms which are really showing their age. Its difficult to get rooms like that properly clean as soap trays and fittings were caked in limescale. I also had hairs in my bath. In fairness they changed my room and upgraded me as soon as I mentioned the issue, and gave me a bottle of wine. It could not have been handled better.
Wifi is only available in lobby and they charge for it.
The restaurant seems to get very booked up, it does have an excellent reputation.
Location is a cab ride into town, a pain if you're not staying long.
