“Great !!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

We stayed here for one night on our way up to Darwin & while there booked for our return trip. rooms are quite roomy & very clean. Ours was near the Car Park & the Pool (which was amazing after our lond drive). The hotal is situated across from the Casino on the edge of Alice Springs & is only about a 10 minute drive into town.
The only two things I found wrong were 1. when you leave your room you take your key & that operate the electricity so the fridge goes off. Not great if you are trying to keep something cold & 2. there was nowhere to leave the Key (at Reseption) if you leave early. We had to leave it in the room.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms near 123 as it is near to thje pool & Car Park.

“Great place, poor service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

The rooms were good, quite roomy (but mine was a long hike from the car parking). It's on the edge of town, but only a 10 minute drive in a busy period.

The desk staff were indifferent and I had to be assertive to get wifi to work. I asked to escalate the issue and was told that the manager (the only person who could help) was away. I asked that he be told of my problems, but when I checked few hours later he knew nothing about the internet being down. He fixed it and it was fine form then on, but I should't have had to keep pushing to get it fixed.

“Excellent stay in the outback”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

Stayed in mid november on mine and my girlfriends holiday. We stayed for three nights because the day tour to Ayres Rock was long and I would advise the same length of stay.

The hotel was clean and the rooms very spacious. The bathrooms were bigger versions of ones you would find in a aeroplane but this was designed around conservation so we were told. The hotel operates a shuttle service to and from the local airport which is a plus as cabs to and from most airports cost me around $30-50 each trip and going to 6 different towns/cities this ended up being expensive so a free shuttle is most welcome.

The staff particularly Elizabeth was very polite and a smile is always welcomed after a long trip especially with Quantas. From early to 10pm there is someone manned on the front desk and at no point were any questions un-answered byt the staff.

Food was excellent and there is a casino opposite which also had a excellent menu. All in all a very enjoyable stay and I give it the thumbs up

“Nice, but...”

I stayed in AIT for 3 nights in September 2011, right after my trip to Uluru. To put it honestly, I enjoyed the location of this hotel - it allows a rest from the rather unpleasant Alice Springs city centre. The hostel was a quiet and relaxed place with great swimming pool and amazing wievs of the hills straight outta my room window. The only thing, the staff was unpleasant and unhelpful. When I was leaving, I asked them to allow me to stay in my room for 3 hours longer as my plane was leaving in the afternoon and hotel check-out time was 10:00. First they agreed, but then when I was leaving they changed their mind and charged me 20$ for late check-out. That sucked. Especially because the hotel was rather empty at that time and so they easily could let me stay a few hours longer. Also, the prices of bike hire are too high and the rooms are never cleaned. But overall, I'd stay there again for the sake of quietness and the pool:-)

“A simple pleasant base”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

Alice in the Territory is a motel on the edge of Alice Springs. We have just returned from a two day trip to see Alice Springs and Uluru. I booked our complimentary airport bus a few days previously and we were met at the airport as promised.
We arrived from Melbourne too early to check in - check in isn't permitted until 2pm. Although this was a bit of a pain the receptionist did get us a taxi to take us into twon, and we were able to leave our luggage safely in the hotel.
Once in our room we were pleasantly surprised. The room was well appointed and fairly spacious for the price. It did smell a little musty and we were a little surprised to see a huge red cockroach in the bathroom in the middle of the night.
We ate in the restaurant, which was not at all bad, and very convenient given the location of the hotel.
We used the pool and spa in the afternoon, and again this was very good for a hotel of this standard.
On our return we again used hte complimentary airport transfer bus.
The staff we met were all friendly, helpful and bright.
All in all a bery good from which to investigate Alice Springs, Uluru and many of the other attractions in the magical area.
