I have recently moved to Alice through work and my first encounter with the Chiefly was in late Nov 2009 when I tried to check in late (my arrival in Alice had been delayed by car problems, the service desk was manned but I was informed through a locked glass door that it was too late for them to find me a room!) I found this incomrehensible, as I am a middle aged accountant, and I resolved to take my business elsewhere in the future.
I then went over to the Crown Plaza where the service was excellent!
I then stayed at the Chiefly last month whilst relocating the family to Alice(the wife's employer was paying the bill) while we were waiting to move into our new house.
Everything was ok and the restaurant is pretty good; however first impressions do count and I would not recommend this establishment in future based upon the lack of civility displayed in this first encounter.
