We spent three nights at the Alice Springs Resort (now Chifley - formerly Voyagers).
We booked a Deluxe Rivergum Room and whilst the decor was a little dated, it was clean and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the (dry) Todd River. The only disappointment in the room was the poor water pressure in the shower and the lack of in-house movies.
We were on the second floor and while there is no lift - we transported our luggage upstairs via a freight lift just near the entry doors (very easy to operate). An ice-maker nearby was also a welcome facility.
We dined at the Barra on the Todd and enjoyed beautifully cooked and presented food. Breakfasts in the same restaurant were the usual buffet style - with average choice and quality.
There is also a comfortable pool area and cool drinks or coffee and cake can be served direct to your sun lounger.
The resort is conveniently located to walk or drive to town and has a a small resort shop for souvenirs. Other high standard resorts seemed to be located much farther away from town.
Recommended activities are the Desert Park, the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the School of the Air. Todd Mall is a mix of upmarket galleries and seedy shops - it could certainly do with a good clean up.
Overall - Alice Springs Resort is a comfortable place to stay whilst experiencing "the Alice."
