Really good hostel - the staff are extremely helpful and the facilities are great. Good value for money. Dont worry about the people writing reviews about 18 bed dorms being noisy - there is one 18 bed and it was the most fun i've had in australia - these sort of people need to wake up and realise that an 18 bed dorm is NOT going to be quiet and need to learn what hostels are like. If you want a nice quiet room, stay at a hotel or spend a bit more cash for a smaller room. World Square is by far one of the best hostels i've stayed in!

stayed in an 18 bed dorm where a party of at least 50+ people was held where they was drinking and smoking all night! they were been so loud so we didnt get any sleep at all. staff were also very unhelpful and the bed had dirty sheets on it when checked in! Very very dirty hostel and wouldnt recommend to anybody!

No shuttle bus as advertised n the website !!
Lift was out of order and we were on the fifth floor with backpacks !!
Whilst i was in my room with my friend, a guy entered the room with his own key and said he left stuff in our room from two nights ago, i queried as to who gave him a key and he said it was reception. When i asked reception why they did it, they reckon he was only looking for stuff he left behind and he was trustworthy, they could not get my point that we had valuable stuff in the room and they should not give out keys to our room with out our authority. Left the following night and would not recommend to any of my friends.

I stayed in a double room by myself for one night in February.
All you get for 85AUD is a bunk bed and a mirror. Shared toilets only have 1 WC and 2 showers.
The level of cleanliness is medium to low for a backpacker. The room was extremely hot and noisy at night.
Free Wi-Fi, friendly staff, location and extras (such as movie nights, cheap buffets/drinks) are among the few pros of this hostel.
overall, it is not up to par with YHA.
