“Rainforest hideaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

On our first afternoon, we simply sat in the garden and soaked up the atmosphere, the rainforest and wildlife and the sound of the creek running quietly below - it was divine! So relaxing and rejuvenating. The accommodation is simple and unique and you can open the living area right up so you really feel like you're living in the forest. We loved it. At night we sat in the lounge with the shutters open and listened to the sounds of the forest and stared at the starts while sipping our tea. Marion and Brian were lovely and full of interesting stories and local knowledge and Marion happily helped us with booking our tours & trips and being flexible with our breakfast times. The beds were comfy and the rooms were lovely and clean and fresh with some tasteful, natural creative touches. So close and yet so far from the tourist area of the Daintree. In the morning we took a lovely 15 min. walk along the quiet forest road to beautiful Cow Bay beach - highly recommended.

“Wonderful retreat in the forest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

My wife and myself thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cow Bay Homestay. It's set in a beautiful garden in the middle of the forest. The main house has two guest rooms at opposite ends, in between is a living area open to both sides, with a view of the gardens. The beds are comfy, rooms and bathrooms are well looked after, so is the living area and kitchen.

Marion and Brian are great hosts, and we enjoyed hanging out with them. Marion makes a mean breakfast to order - the quality of food preparation reflects her years of experience in the hospitality industry. I enjoyed huge bowls of fruit salad, my wife had poached eggs and homemade breads.

The beach is not far from the property, but does require a 15minute walk or a 4 minute drive. We found Cow Bay beach to be nicer than Cape Trib's.

If you're lucky you may spot a cassowary stalking around the gardens while you laze in the hammock, like I did.

“A beautiful base for your Daintree holiday”

Marion provided awesome hospitality in a beautiful secluded rainforest hideaway. If we are back this way we'd definitely stay again.

“Beautiful just beautiful...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011

My girlfriend and I had just three nights in Cape Tribulation but after staying at Cow Bay Homestay we wished we could have stayed longer...

The owners Marion and Brian looked after us really well making us feel welcome from the start and sending us excellent directions. Marion talked us through the suprisingly large amount of things to do in Cape Tribulation. The property is a self contained (Marion and Brian live nextdoor) open plan wooden house set in a fantastic garden.

We had some beautiful evenings stargazing from the garden (We saw numerous shooting stars) and Marion looked after us well supplying breakfast as early as 7am (as we went on the excellent Ocean Safari reef trip).

The rooms are excellent with wooden floors throughout and carefully thought out ventilation keeping us cool.

Overall we loved our stay and will definitely be going back during our next trip to Queensland.

“A perfect place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2011

We stayed here for three nights using it as a base to explore Cape Tribulation and the surrounding area. Marion and Brian were perfect hosts and their house is beautiful. Marion provided lots of information for us on the surrounding areas even booking us on a local crocodile tour at the last moment when we had a change of plans. Breakfast was plentiful and all freshly prepared by Marion. If you want to say in this area, then this is an ideal place to stay. One tip - book at least 2 more nights than planned, we still have a lot to go back and do!

Room Tip: Both rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable
