On paper this hotel looks pretty good, the location is excellent, the car parking facilities brilliant. We stayed for five nights that included the week-end. First impressions were of a tired establishment that could do with a bit of TLC in certain areas, certainly the restaurant and bar had received it but the hall and stair carpets needed replacing. Alarm bells rang when several of our party had been moved to other B&B's we were assured our room was in the quiet part of the Hotel. Breakfasts were attended to by staff members who were also on reception duty, this occasionally meant a wait or a trip to reception to get service, the food passed the test but sadly we had to request certain basics to be replenished, like cornflakes, marmalade and on the very first morning there was no fresh orange juice. The Hotel has its own adjoining disco, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the noise from the entertainment and from the people attending is horrendous, This does not start until about 1230am and continues until at least 3am with cars racing around the car park. The noise reverborates throughout the whole Hotel and makes sleep impossible. The food served in the Bar was very good with huge portions and served by accomodating and friendly staff. I believe the Hotel needs to decide whether to look after its guests or keep taking the revenue from its night club and therefore alienate the hotel guests on a week end.
Room Tip: Ask for a room well away from the night club and if possible not overlooking the car park

Dear Wolverhampton,
Thank you for taking time to comment on your recent stay, I know the MG Owners Club had a great trip despite the inclement weather!!!
In initial correspondence with the group leader, it was highlighted the Hotel was adjacent to a Nite Club. With this in mind, some members of your party requested to be relocated to a Bed & Breakfast on Emmet Square next to the Hotel. While some rooms may experience noise from the club, the Hotel cannot account for noise from cars on the public roads. The Hotel is located in Emmet Square which is a public area and not the private grounds of Dooly's Hotel nor the Hotel Car Park.. I would like to point out our Hotel Car Park is located across the square next to the local Garda Station.
I am delighted you enjoyed the good food, generous portions and friendly staff in the Hotel. I appreciate your comments on the carpets - this is general wear & is cleaned constantly.
Again I would like to thank you for your review & hope to welcome you back to Dooly's Hotel next year.
Yours Sincerely,
Stephen O' Connor
