“Just excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2009

I was travelling around Ireland by car with my partner and this was the best place we stayed in! Moreover, it has the best price/quality ratio I've ever experienced: extremely clean, really confortable beds, tasty and abundant breakfast, very friendly and warm family. I highly recomend it!

“I just called to make my 2. reservation..Regarding my large bb experience in the country, thats an outstanding standart”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2009

I can only agree to the previous review. My friends and me arrived completely wet after a a day outside in heavy rains. The welcome was so warm already, but when entering the rooms we experienced instantly kind of a relief of our situation... Extremely clean, like a 3 or 4 stars hotel at least. The showers were warm immediatly. The rooms are well isolated from the exterior. and the BEDS..... sooo comfortable that I immediatly realxed and fastly fell asleep for my afternoon nap.
About the welcome in the house? This was the kidn of b&b landlords I was talking to my guests visiting me in Ireland. This is what makes the difference between this and a hotel. Mary is the perfect host, and her husband Jack, freshly retired, is so enthusiatic about this that it spreads over to you :).
Any advice about going out in waterford or tramore, or the surroundings? They tell you all

As a resumee: I will call Mary in a second to try to reserve for Saturday night, returning a week after the described first experience, to take my girlfriend there. Nothing more cosy than this b&b..

“Excellent - better than some hotels”

My mum and I stayed at the Avanti Guest House in June 2006 for one night. We were staying in Tramore because I had a dog show there the next morning. The guest house itself is immaculately clean with all the facilities of a 3/4 star hotel and is in a quiet cul-de-sac. In fact, some hotel owners could learn from the way this guesthouse is ran. The O'Connors who own the guesthouse are extremely welcoming and informative. In our room there was a double and single bed, a large wardrobe and chest of drawers, a fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, fresh drinking water in a flask, a hairdryer, television, wine & water glasses, tolietries in the bathroom, fluffy white towels and a power shower. There is also a living room/dining room for the guests' use. There is a smallish garden but it is completely enclosed which meant it was ideal for us with a dog because we could close the gates and let the dog have a run around first thing in the morning and last thing at night. I thnk the whole house is no smoking but there is a nice seating area in the garden. I was also able to park my car outside the bedroom window which suited because the dog was in the car overnight. The breakfast the next morning was excellent. Mary the host brought everything to your table - most guesthouses I've stayed in you at least have to help yourself to cereal. There was orange juice, tea, coffee, four different cereals and a selection of jams, fresh wheaten bread (an Irish speciality), toast and a cooked breakfast. My mum is quite a fussy eater and Mary made her scrambled eggs and toast and I had a full Irish breakfast with bacon, sausages, cherry tomatoes, black and white pudding and a fried egg. The house seemed to be full when we stayed and there were seven people in for breakfast but all our food was served promptly. The guesthouse is approx 20 mins walk from the beach and about 10 mins walk from the racecourse. We took the dog to the beach and walked for about two hours. This is an excellent guesthouse - the best we've stayed in and highly recommended.
