“Highly recommend this B&B to anybody.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

Stayed at the Cliff House during a week long tour of Ireland, and I can not recommend it enough. It offered some fantastic views from the the whole house and gardens, and a great breakfast! We decided to tour Ireland rather than going away and mixed our stay with Hotels & Guest Houses.

Cliff House was the nicest B&B we stayed in during our visit and I would go back in a heartbeat. Its in a lovely location in Tramore, and offers some great views. The room we had didn't have a seaview, but it was clean, spacious and the bathroom was nicely sized with a decent shower. The host and hostess were both very nice and helpful. We went with a traditional fry and french toast for breakfast and they were very nice to give us a later check out and breakfast when we asked.

I think people tend to forget, from looking at other reviews, that this is a B&B and not a hotel! Don't expect late breakfasts, check outs and huge rooms like you should expect in a hotel. At least, that's not what I expected. I got fantastic accommodation, a lovely breakfast and free internet. Did the job for us anyway!

Highly recommend this house to anybody.

“Lovely house and lovely hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2011

I would like to highly recommend this Bed & Breakfast to anybody who is travelling near the Tramore area in Ireland. We stayed here for two nights this year after a recommendation from another house we stayed in and it was the best recommendation we got on our tour of the lovely country.

Staying in a Bed & Breakfast is different than a hotel, we expected less frills and smaller rooms/beds. Every house is a different experience from quality of stay to the breakfast. Its what we like about guesthouses! But when we stayed in Cliff House, we never expected what we ended up with and for that I am taking the time to recommend them here and applaud Patrick & Hilary for their excellent work.

The room was very well decorated. Nice and modern, and very comfortable with a radio and television to keep us going. The house itself was very nice and well kept, with plenty of pictures of the area and waterford crystal. The lounge was very big moving into a gorgeous sun room with Tea, Coffee and some drinks which was a great idea. Nice big garden at the front and back, with a private car park. Gardens were very well landscaped. Simply, this house was gorgeous and like a hotel but different as it was clearly a family home with a family touch.

Patrick and Hilary were extremely friendly and nice. We had a gorgeous breakfast, and enjoyed meeting other guests in the sun room and chatting about our experience so far during our visit to Ireland. We also met the kids and grand children, who were very friendly and accommodating during our stay.

Lovely house and lovely hosts.

“Absolutely gorgeous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

I stayed at Cliff House B&B about this time last year with my parents. I must say I enjoyed my stay from start to finish which is why I just had to write this. I immensely enjoyed my stay here, from the warm and inviting welcome, to the fabulous service throughout my stay. The moment Cliff House and the beautiful scenery around it came into view I was in absolute awe. It’s really not called ‘Cliff house’ for no reason. The sea views from the cliff are simply breath taking. When I arrived I was immediately taken away by it. On arrival I then was greeted by a warm friendly couple who gave us a full tour of the facilities available including free WIFI and also to our surprise we even had the use of a lounge overlooking the gorgeous views and we got to avail of a mini bar where we could relax, watch TV or just enjoy the panoramic views. We were then shown our room which was just perfect, It was a bright and warm ensuite bedroom with a spacious balcony overlooking the coast of Tramore. It was just magical at night overlooking the bay and lights from afar that seemed to just dance off the water flawlessly. If that wasn’t enough the wonderful service continued, we had an extensive breakfast menu that I genuinely have never seen any of my stays anywhere before ranging from the traditional Irish breakfast to kippers, crepes and even their own fantastic twist to French toast which is to die for. This is a place I definitely will not forget and without a doubt WILL be returning to. I would recommend this to anybody who wants a holiday or breakaway that they will never forget for all the right reasons.

“We loved it, and would recommend it to everyone!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

We stayed in Cliff House a few weeks ago. We came from Limerick as its to expensive to go abroad and we picked Cliff House because it looked lovely from their website.

We were brought around by the son, Kevin, who was very helpful and accommodating. Gave us a tour of the house before bringing us into our room. Was a nice welcome and not what we expected - assumed he would be just given our keys and told where the room was and left to do everything else ourselves but this was not the case.

We availed of a three night special in the house which was great value and explored the town, the city and the South East during our stay. Really enjoyed it and we have decided to send our parents down here as a gift for the August race weekend.

Cant fault the B&B. Lovely people, lovely surroundings, and lovely breakfast.

Will be back again no doubt and I hope my parents enjoy it as much as we did.

“Had a great time, will definitely recommend to others”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

Stayed in Cliff House in May 2011 with a large group. Have to say, I highly recommend this as the best B&B we have ever stayed in during our visit to Ireland. The service was second to none, and was better than staying in a typical hotel we all agreed on. Will definitely recommend this to friends and family and hope to visit it again.

Our rooms were very spacious and had a stunning view -- for once a B&B that offered uninterrupted views lived up to the expectation (a first for us!). There was free internet in the rooms and also in the lounge, which was great. We used the computer in the hallway also, as we had only one laptop with us - it came in very useful for confirming flight details for everyone in the group. There was a public phone in the hallway we didn't need to use but its a great idea. The host (Hilary) was very nice to us throughout our stay and extremely helpful, she gave us the main cordless phone to book ahead and made a number of recommendations which turned out great.

Breakfast we had lots of choice and went with the French Toast - absolutely gorgeous. Some might find ordering the night before inconvenient but it didn't bother us and didn't seem to bother anyone else in the lounge that morning. Its still cooked fresh and they give very generous portions for everything. Best breakfast in a longtime and I still crave the french toast!! We also had the traditional Irish "fry" and Crepes. All of which were excellent.

Great B&B, great hosts and highly recommend it for anybody travelling to the area. The gardens are very big so it seems suitable for families, and even for couples they have lots of outdoor seating and the gardens are well landscaped so its romantic for the old heart! Great views from the garden of Tramore Bay.

Well worth a visit and our only regret was not being able to stay longer. Hopefully if we can get over again we can get the balcony rooms, we were shown the view before we left and its even better than our own room!! Thanks to Kevin for fixing our laptop when we were stranded on arrival, we would be lost without it!

5 Stars, Not 4!!

Sincerely,

Jim Horton
