“Superb Location, and Very Friendly Staff.”

We have just returned home from a 5 day break in lovely Tramore, Ireland staying at The Grand Hotel. The Staff were very friendly and helpfull, the food was great, and plenty of it, the rooms were a very good size, with clean linen daily, however, the down side was, due to no maintenance staff visible, room complaints were seldon sorted out, such as TV, or plumbing problems that we encountered.

Room Tip: Ask for a Front Facing room, where thereis a superb View

i boyoked the grand hotel for three days for my mother and myself for last week but on reading some of the not so good reviews i felt very unsure about my choice .we arrived on tuesday and the hotel was very busy with oversea visitors three coach loads to be exact .with so many visitors we could not have hoped for anything like the attention we recived from the lady mary on reception to every member of staff you could not help but notice the huge effort the staff put in to make there visitors stay as enjoyable as they could the owners of this hotel are so very lucky to have front of house staff that represent them so well .as some reviews state the hotel is very old the wood panieling in the dining room is very lovely and the old plaster work on ceilings is also a great reminder of the grander houses of times gone by the older hotels appeal to me.we found our room perfecly clean carpet spotless bathroom spotless fab view of the strand food great and very good value we actually stayed another night many thanks again to the staff michell jo and paul for finding time from your very busy shift to take such very good care of my mother and me lookiing forward to seeing you all again terry

“Dated hotel,delightful staff”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

What a disappointment, staff helpful, but the hotel was so dated and unkempt. Public rooms better. One couple could not sleep in the bed, pubic hair on sheets etc. Another couple moved 3 times. Our room was dated, thin stained sheets as cheap and old. Lampshade missing over bed, bathroom plugs dirty and gave us back our dirty and damp towels, TV archaic. Mirror with large piece missing - Health and Safety! Mealtimes took forever and food lacking on some choices.
Money needs to be spent as obviously trying to save it. Head waitress did her best under difficult conditions, as did all the staff, they deserve better and so did we!!

Room Tip: Preferably in the front, can be noisy at back and some side rooms

“Comfortable, central & friendly.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

We stayed on a Friday night in September. Staff & owner were really friendly & most helpful allocating rooms different from those booked to suit our needs, we had 3 children & Granny with mobility problems. Rooms lovely, everything we needed & help immediately upon request. Dinner was delicious, & great value for everyone, something to suit every palate on the menu. The seafood was fresh & presented nicely. Roast dinners very good.
Excellent band played in the bar until late, where we danced the night away with the very friendly clientele. Good pints, comfortable seating. Amazing views from the sea view rooms, well worth the bit extra.
We enjoyed our break & hope to go again soon, Tramore is great for families & the Grand is a great place to stay. Very nice staff in all areas of the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask staff to make a recommendation & go for a sea view.
