“Business women's night out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

As busy business women we needed a night to recharge the batteries and Cahir House Hotel ticked all the boxes. We had three rooms all very nice. We had an evening meal in the restaurant, great choice on menu, service prompt and staff very attentive. We went to the very busy friendly bar later where there was plenty ceol agus craic. After a good nights sleep we went for Irish breakfast (yum). We then went for a long picturesque walk along by the river (a must do)
before returning to the city.

“very enjoyable”

Myself and my husband recently stayed in this hotel. I had read some of the reviews about the hotel but had been given a present so went ahead. I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff and management could not have been more helpful. The hotel is old but I thought there was a lovely asmosphere. We had a verty nice meal in the restaurant and there was music in the bar afterwards which we really enoyed. My husband played golf nearby next day and I went for a walk on the river bank which is just behind the hotel. It was such a beautiful walk. A very enjoyable weekend. We will be back again

Stayed in Cahir House with 10 lady friends two weekends ago, we stayed one night, had evening meal, breakfast. Loved everything about this Hotel, staff very friendly and good fun,
Evening Meal was superb, afterwards had a great night in the bar, music and impromtu dancing - bedroom perfect - suited and meet all our needs, ideally located - would recommend highly - value for money - Re-union being organised -

“Hotel for drunks”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2011

This hotel is very dated, the rooms are of a very poor standard.

The worst thing overall was trying to eat an evening meal whilst drunks argue and shout with foul language all over the restaurant/bar area whilst the staff look on.

Dump stay elsewhere

“Big Disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

We booked night away with a special offer, which included a hydrotherapy bath each as well as a bottle of wine. Upon arrival I asked if there was parking and was directed to the public car park at the back of the hotel. As we walked through the back entrance, it felt like we were walking into an old dated nursing home. When checking in we were advised that the bottle of wine was only available if we ordered a meal there, however this wasn't stated anywhere when we booked the deal. The hydrotherapy was boring (basically a bath with bubbles) The room was a disgrace (room 101), mold on the ceiling, cold damp room, carpet threadbare, disgusting bathroom, wallpaper held up with sellotape and the bed felt as if it was about 35 years old. The fact that this room was even being offered was unbelievable. On a positive not the food is good and the staff are very friendly. Would I book a room there again? Sorry to say never, even if I didn't have to pay for it
