“Cannot say enough good things about this B&B!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

I cannot say enough good about Tir Na Nog! It was about a 5 minute drive outside of Cashel, but we were able to find it using the directions provided and a map (no GPS). When we arrived, Tommy made us feel very welcome and told us all we needed to know about places we could go for supper in Cashel. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet; the location is peaceful, and we had a good night’s rest. Joan and Tommy took good care of us at breakfast, and the choices, both hot and cold, were excellent. They also spent some time entertaining us with amusing tales and anecdotes of past guests. They made us feel like they were happy to advise us about our travel plans, and that we were important enough to them that we should let them know when we arrived home safely. This was by far the best B&B we stayed in as we traveled across Ireland. I would definitely recommend staying here if you wish to feel genuine Irish hospitality!

“Home away from home like family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

Check in/out:
Tommy was waiting at the door and came out to meet us. We had emailed in advance when we would arrive and he was ready with a welcoming smile and helpful advice. He made sure that we were completely satisfied before he went on to anything else. Even though Tommy and Joan were both busy in the morning the gave a personal good bye.
Staff:
Being the family were very, very hospitable. Until we met Tommy the owner we had met no one in Ireland who lived up to the ideal we had heard of Irish hospitality. Tommy is just over the top in a good way. He will just make you feel special no matter what is going on. At the time we visited Joan’s folks had a 60th anniversary bash at another location and the daughter was ill overnight. So they had reasons not to give us attention. Still compared to any visit that we have had anywhere Tommy and Joan exceeded the expectations we had for them. I don’t think it is possible to say enough good to describe the friendly stay.
Housekeeping:
The grounds are well kept and the house is perfect.
Room:
At a glance it is like you are visiting someone else’s home using a guest room with attached bath. Upon closer examination we found everything there was care placed in the room for our comfort. If felt like we had come home to visit a close friend. My other concerns for traveling in Ireland are as follows, Water pressure low. Hot water/shower while water pressure was low there is enough hot water to be comfortable. Sleep quality is comfortable with obviously clean everything. The room we used had two beds, both where very comfortable. Noise level was the level of a country house and the road is far enough away it is not noticable. Wash clothes: Oh yes and what is more there are bath robes and lots of little toiletries just as if you never left home. Toilet was under powered compared to the household pressurized system we have in the states. Environmental controls are valve type on the radiators. Power supply was all Irish/British outlets.
Parking:
There is lots of parking to be found here, in front and back, off of the road. Nice long driveway too.
Location:
The maps and descriptions of the location are not really accurate in my opinion. The idea that some may have that this is not Cashel in reality are true since it is in Dualla. However, in practicality time wise it is as if you are just on the outskirts of Cashel without the busy town feel. Easy to find even without using a map. So, I would not allow the idea that this is not in the town of Cashel prevent my from staying here.
Internet:
There is Wi-Fi available even outside very easy to use. Plenty of TV in the room and more choices in the common room.
Safety:
Always be aware of your surroundings and never act like a tourist. You are just a few minutes outside of Cashel in a rural setting. It feels very safe here with plenty of lawns and easy walk to a quiet pub. It feels like home.
Helpful hints:
Best pricing I can find for this location is part of an independent travel package with B&B vouchers. As we found out there most of the travel companies sell discounted vouchers not good for en suite, so you will owe the B&B owners more money for your visit per person. It is better to buy en suite vouchers. Also get advice from Tommy before you arrive and start doing things, it will make your visit more productive and pleasant.
Additional Information:
The hosts are very good communicators so email them early in your planning and keep them advised and they are very willing to help you. Tommy gave us tons of advice that we really could have used before we landed in Ireland. Sadly this was our last B&B to stay at. Had we to do over we would have come here first and spent most of our nights here.
Would I stay here again?
Most definitely! This was our best B&B stay ever, primarily due to the hospitality of our hosts. Thank you, Tommy.

“Great Place, Great People”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

My friend and I stayed at Tir Na Nog for 1 night on Nov 6, 2011 and it was wonderful. Tommy and Joan were amazing hosts and a real pleasure to talk with. We stayed in room 4 which has 2 beds, and it was a great room. The bed I slept in was without a doubt the most comfortable bed I slept on while in Ireland. The room was nicely decorated and had a great view of the fields and hills behind the house. The room and ensuite bathroom were very clean and nicely appointed. The shower had great water pressure and nice hot water, Breakfast was delicious. Basically we had a great stay and would definitely stay there again. The only downside was that we only had one night there, and that was our own fault!

“Hosts are Supreme!!”

Stopped here for one night when travelling back across Ireland from Cork to Dublin. Tommy and Joan were terrific hosts. Our room was very comfortable rooms, had an excellent shower and excellent breakfast was provided. Tommy had good knowledge of the best places to eat and where to get a good pint in Cashel. After spending the day at the Rock of Cashel, Tommy suggested a short trip to Holy Cross to see the cathedral and have a pint at the Abbey Pub. . Tommy's suggestion was perfect! He offered us many thoughts to ponder.

Careful with GPS ours showed this B&B between Cashel and Dualla, but Tir Na nog is situated in Dualla.
Everything from the welcome greeting upon arrival, to the departure was perfect. Tommy took extra care to make sure we knew exactly how to get everywhere, recommended the perfect restaurants, and made sure we had everything we needed before bed. A most authentic and unique evening was spent at the pub next door, the Hare and the Horse, couldn't get that just anywhere! Enjoyed chatting with Margaret the proprietor and her grand-daughter bar-keep Sinead. Would definitely stay at Tir Na Nog again when in County Tipperary. We highly recommend a stay here.

Room Tip: Our room was superb-right over front door

“Great B&B, very enjoyable hosts”

We randomly chose this B&B out of a book and found our choice to stay with Tommy & Joan a wonderful decision. They were both extremely welcoming and we enjoyed conversing with them. Our room was very comfortable and clean with nice strong showers. Our room was stocked with items you wouldn't expect like Q-tips, cotton swabs, travel size toiletries (which came in handy as we neared the end of our trip). Joan's advice to visit the local restaurant Oasis, was spot on and our breakfast in the morning was wonderful as well. Loved Tommy's humor at my husband's refusal to eat the blood pudding!! Knowing how much I missed my cats back across the pond, Tommy brought me outside to meet their own furballs (which don't come inside for those non-feline lovers) It was just a simple touch but, something that warmed my heart. Joan is also very friendly and a wonderful hostess as well. I loved the interaction between this couple of 23 years which truly showed a love and respect for each other. They worked together in unison to create a pleasant and welcoming environment. The location was very close to the town of Cashel and the Rock (a must see!). A good base for visiting so many places in other local towns. We definitely recommend Tir Na Nog...loved the name and it's meaning!

Room Tip: We had a room with a king size bed and it was quite comfortable.
