Ashore House was our first stop on our recent 21 day tour of Ireland; we were happy to find off street parking for the car and happy that the house is so close to the town center.
The hosts were friendly and very welcoming as was their little dog, though I do question the fact that he roamed freely for those that have allergies.
Ashmore House shows it's age, faded but nevertheless comfortable......our room, which my husband and I agreed was average, overlooked the street and had a nice big window so it was bright and amazingly quiet; it was a bit small though and the bed soft for our liking. The door to the room had a feeble lock on it though I suppose safety wasn't an issue but it was a bit discomforting. The bathroom was small with a very small shower but both were clean.
My husband's breakfast was tasty but mine wasn't....I was presented a plate full of watery scrambled eggs with some palid smoked salmon on top and unfortunately, was not too impressed. Great Irish brown bread though.
So there were some positives, some negatives and those came even more to the forefront as we were exposed to our other B&B choices as we continued on our tour. The costs were generally within the same yet the following accommodation was far superior for the most part.
