“A gem at the foot of the Rock of Cashel!”

My family recently had the distinct pleasure of staying at Ladyswell in Cashel. We found this B&B and the proprietor absolutely charming. The view of the Rock of Cashel cannot be beat, and the location of the B&B is terrific for exploring the town of Cashel on foot. Contrary to the review below we experienced no significant noise issues despite also having a room above the dining room, and we found the room to be quite reasonably proportioned considering the age of the property. We were greeted graciously by the hostess Beatrice, enjoyed cuddle time with the delightful Irish Setter Rory, and had a fabulous breakfast the next morning prior to departure. This is what a true B&B should be - quiet, friendly, and feeling a bit like a home away from home. We truly felt that Beatrice runs this establishment because she enjoys her guests and we look forward to staying there again some day soon.

Dear Theresa,

Thank you for your wonderful review. We really enjoyed your stay at our B&B and meeting you in Chez Hans restaurant next door. WE also hope you enjoyed your private guided tour of Ireland with Kevin and Ireland Chauffeur Travel. Best Wishes, Beatrice Leahy

“not for people who liked to be crammed.”

the only thing good i have to say about this B&B is that its close to the rock of cashel.within walking distance.

when we got to our B&B no one was there to open the door.im sorry but when you run a B&B someone should always be there.let it be the cook, maid whatever.

when we got there our room was so crammed.not enough walking space in your room.the room is small so a twin size bed is huge for the room.there are 5 rooms.4 on the second floor.they should make the bed for only one person.we didnt have enough room for our bags.had to set some of them on top of each other.the door to the bathroom was one inch away from the toilet and 2 inches from the sink.

our room was above the dining room or kitchen.about the time we wanted to go to sleep there were dishing crashing and people talking.we heard everything.i guess in that B&B the walls are paper thin.not a relaxing place to stay.
they need to tear down one wall to make it a bit more comforting and more room.to me it felt like it was all about the money.more travelers meant more money.ive been in many B&Bs but this was the worst in ireland for sheer fact there was no space.

We have five guest bedrooms. Three rooms are single / double rooms and are of an adequate size. We have two larger rooms which one is a twin / triple and a very large family room. The room these clients stayed in has a wonderful uninterrupted view of the castle. It is a small double but is very comfortably furnished. We use it as a single room but also as a small double. The house is over 100 years old so the room size reflect the age of the house not any desire to cram people in.
Not to mention of wonderful breakfast, nice furnishings, friendly staff , beautiful location beside castle etc ..

“An excellent place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2010

Beatrice runs a lovely bed and breakfast. She is helpful with information about the local area and cooks a huge, delicious breakfast. It is served in a very pretty, cheerful, elegant dining room. Our bed room had a wonderful view of the Rock of Cashel, which is a very short walk up the street. Unfortunately, we were too tired to stay up to see the castle lights at night, which Beatrice says is lovely. If you are traveling with teenagers, especially if you are staying more than one night, consider getting more than one room as the family room is a little small. The bathroom in the family room was large compared to most during our stay in B & B's in Ireland. The beds were comfortable, and it was quiet, but there was a street light right outside our window. We were too tired to care, having flown into Dublin that morning. Parking is usually available in front of the B&B at night, but you must pay during the day. 50 feet away is a small lot for free. Ladyswell House was a nice place to stay.

“2nd time staying here. Great B&B in a great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2010

Stayed here for the first time in May 2004 and again May 2010, this time on our honeymoon. We love the upstairs room with the picture window that looks out onto the rock of cashel. Just a few minutes walk up the road to visit the rock itself or a 5-10 min walk into town to the pubs and other shops. We had a lovely breakfast cooked to order. The owner of the B&B is fantastic - very welcoming without being intrusive, she even gave us advice and directions on where to drive the next day on our way to our next destination.

“This one is hard to beat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2010

We stayed for a night in July and were warmly welcomed even though we arrived quite early for check in. Beatrice, our host, was warm and welcoming with a friendly smile. She was kind enough to let us check in early because our room was ready. The room was lovely with a window seat that looked out onto the Rock of Cashel. The beds were very comfortable and the room and ensuite bath were spotless. Our homemade breakfast of blueberry pancakes was to die for! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to all. We also enjoyed Rolly, the resident red setter. What a gentleman.
