“Does exactly what it says on the tin”

Stayed here on July 1st. Was at Wedding in the nearby Lady Gregory Hotel.

Sullivan's was recommended to me by a friend who lives near Gort. The hotel is small and a little dated to look at from the outside. It has a carpark. I was staying with a buddy of mine and we had a twin room which cost us €75. No complaints there. The room was perfectly acceptable and well proportioned. The beds were firm but again no problem with them. The bathroom had shower in bath and the pressure of the same was amazing. The only problem was that the holder for the shower head was broken so it had to hand held. Again only a small thing.

The breakfast was hearty and large and very tasty with big pot of tea and plenty of toast and served til 12noon. Absolutely great after night at wedding.

All in all - sullivan's is a basic 2 star hotel that "does not offend in any way". I would stay here again.

“Serves Breakfast til 12 - what more could you want?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2009

I was at a wedding in Gort and stayed in this hotel. The hotel is a typical old-style Irish hotel. My room was big, with a double and a single, even though I only had it for single occupancy.
Most importantly, breakfast was served til 12 (and I'd say possibly after that if you wanted it), and you could order anything on the menu (fry, bagels, scones, etc).

“great value hotel”

Having recently spent a couple of nights in a 4-star Galway city centre hotel, I arrived at Sullivan's with pretty low expectations on what I would find. But what a pleasant surprise. It was difficult to fault the hotel or its staff at this price range. The room was spacious and spotless, the food was basic in choice but of a good standard, and the hotel staff could not have been more helpful and hospitable. Gort is a good stopping place for those touring - close enough for a trip into Galway city and gateway to the spectacular beauty of County Clare. The hotel is located right in the centre of this lively town. I will cetainly go back to this hotel.
