“Ideal!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2010

A simply great B&B. Really excellent spacious rooms well equipped (t.v., tea/coffee etc.) with good en suite facilities. Have stayed here twice now and would really recommend it as a base for touring. The surrounding area is really lovely with plenty of places to visit. Great views from all around the B&B.

The B&B is a little bit isolated down a country lane, but a five minute walk brings you to a really excellent pub/restaurant. Breakfasts are plentiful – good selection. Well priced. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful with advice on places to visit. There’s a good lounge and the surroundings are generally spacious all round. Plenty of parking.
All in all it is difficult to find fault with Yates Lodge. Great location, friendly, welcoming, warm, spotlessly clean and at a very reasonable price.

“Excellent B&B”

Only stayed one night at this B&B. Had a good sleep and a delicious breakfast (pancakes) which I could choose myself. This was very welcome after having an irish breakfast for the last three days. The room we had (called Glencar) was very spacious and tastefully decorated.

“Great B&B”

We stayed one night but were treated like family. The owner was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. Breakfast was one of the best on our trip. Room was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated but not over done. Got a very restful nights sleep. Would return again on our next visit.

“Beautiful setting”

I loved the location of the B&B. Plenty of trees, views of the mountain and horses grazing in the field. The B&B itself is very modern, clean and spacious. Breakfast was also good.

“A good location for the Yeats' Drumcliff and Lissadell connections”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2009

Four nights spent at Yeats Lodge... so plenty of time to make an assessment. The hostess, Mrs Gibbons, is as hospitable as can be and is sure to make any visitor feel welcome. Her husband runs a business with emphasis on renewable energy plumbing and told me the property costs nothing much to run in terms of heating the hot water - solar, wind and wood-boiler energy are all in use.

The bedrooms (Benbulben and Lissadell used) are of a good size with en-suite facilities. However, the front door has a Yale and mortice lock and when anybody closes it with the Yale operating a pressure wave does 'travel' up to the bedroom and rattles the door! Not a problem unless trying to sleep. Wifi connection is available if asked for. The full Irish breakfast is very much recommended... unless one is trying to lose weight.

In terms of nearby eateries, the shock comes to Brits because of the euro exchange rate... Davis Restaurant (walkable) patronised twice, Laura's Restaurant at Carney once and The Emperor Chinese Restaurant at Grange once - best value from the latter but we reckoned on £50 per head almost whatever! Food at Laura's Restaurant good but staff brusque, Davis' very convenient but, again, expensive.
