This is our second stay with Nancy and Tom at Stanley House after 6 years and it was as wonderful as ever. Nancy is just lovely - very welcoming with a great way of making you feel like one of the family. Her rooms are of an extremely high standard with tasteful decor and extremely comfy beds. The guest facilities are fantastic with a very cosy sitting room and wonderful views from the conservatory. A fresh pot of tea and home baked cake are offered on arrival - and at any time you fancy. Breakfast was wonderful with a variety over and above whats on the menu and all cooked fresh to order (scrambled eggs are especially fluffy,creamy and tasty !!). We wanted to stay longer or take Nancy along with us on our onward journey. We'll definitely be back.
N.B. Great base for birdwatching - particularly Cape Clear and Mizen Head.

“What more could you ask for!”

When we needed a place to stay in West Cork for a few nights we fell right into a little piece of heaven! Nancy made us welcome from the moment we phoned to book, and the standard of the home and hospitality beats any other B and B we have ever experienced. The rooms are comfortable and spotless, the atmosphere is one of restfulness and the BREAKFAST- superb is just not a strong enough word!

“WE WILL BE BACK..BEST BB EVER..”

I recently stayed at stanley house with my wife and son..with out doubt it has to be the best bed and breakfast in the country..we travel a lot and stay in many 5 star hotels but would rather any day stay at stanley house. We were made so welcome from the minute we stepped in the door...tea-coffee with all the trimmings...the rooms are so clean..and breakfast..the waffles were to die for , if you stay there you have to try them..
We were recommended to eat at The Waterside restaurant...it was just excellent.
If you are passing through schull and have a chance to stay over night , stanley house is with out a doubt a little paradise..

Being from Ireland I've stayed in some choice b&b's. Nancy and Stanley House is genuinely the best we have ever experienced on all fronts. Well done on setting the bar! John & Nicola, Dublin

My 9yr old son and I recently spent 4 days with the most wonderful hostess Nancy in her beautiful home, Stanley House in Schull.
The room was delightful, the view priceless, the breaky was 5 star - you simply MUST have the fruit salad - a taste buds delight with variety truly unexpected in Ireland!
The location is superb, quaintly tucked away but still within a lovely walkings distance along the bay track into town.
We travelled around Ireland for 3 weeks, staying in guesthouses/B&B's all the way and NOTHING came close to Nancy's warm hospitatlity, genuine kindness and flawless hostessing skills.
She and my son have claimed each other as adopted grandchild/Irish grandmother and I know that we will both be back to stay with her again one day!
A true GEM of Ireland, cannot sing its praise highly enough, do yourself a favour and get there!
