“Inis Beg - a place apart”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

Thank you to Georgie and Paul for taking care of this beautiful part of Cork and for making it available to us. We walked and biked the estate during our four days and enjoyed the mysteries around every turn. We dined on food from the garden and we are returning to Dublin refreshed! It is indeed a bit of heaven we both look forward to coming back to again.

“We can't wait to go back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2011

Inisbeg is a beautiful estate. The cottage we stayed in was fantastic. We were so relaxed and the stars at night and peace was just unreal. The pool was lovely and my son and I didn't find it at all cold. The staff and owners of the estate were very helpful. We were blessed with the weather in April when we visited. The dogs are so friendly and ruby provided entertainment in the morning when she would be sitting outside our door step.

“Really loved it and we will be back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2011

We stayed in the Lodge in June and we really loved it. The house is very cosy, nicely furnished and very well equipped, everything that you might want or need. There are lovely walks around the estate, and it is within easy reach of both Skibbereen and Baltimore and lots of really beautiful places to visit in West Cork. For restaurants we would recommend the Mews in Baltimore and The Church in Skibbereen, and the local pub/restaurant The Sibín.
We have booked to go back again next February, this time to the Boathouse (as a group of friends).

“The most magical place in Ireland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 July 2011

We were looking for a place to go for a short break in the south of Ireland, and a friend recommended Inish Beg. We booked it and travelled on the same day. What we discovered was a magical place. Frst class facilities in terms of the accomodation and fit equipment in the house - but ever more impressive was the actual island, completed with a magical wood with wonderful walks and constant delight. We brought our 3 kids (ages 9 to 14), and normally we go out in the car each day on holidays, but in this case everyone jsut wanted to wander and explore the island - plus enjoy the facilities in the hosue. we were fortunate to secure the "Boathouse" - the prime cottage built out against the estuary. The house itself is an architectural delight - all light, wonderful views and modern. You could easily sleep any combination of 8 people here comfortably. The atmosphere overall was very friendly - and do not miss the vintage car collection. There is also a great indoor pool you get for 1 hour a day for your own use - a first for us. We will be back. Highly recommended. There is no resturant on site, so do soem shopping before you arrive.

“Beautiful Estate, but very poor customer service”

The owner of this property needs to either hire someone else to deal with customers, or get out of the business, because she obviously HATES PEOPLE!!!! The estate is beautiful, but she really put a damper on our vacation by her horrendous attitude.

There is Wild Hogweed on the property, and one of the children in our party came in contact with it and became pretty sick. I understand that it is not their fault, but her attitude when I came to the office to get a phone number for a local GP was disgusting. She immediatelly denied that there was any anywhere on the property, and then retracted that it could only be found "deep into the forest".
I later found that there is an uncapped very deep well on the property. This makes me ill to think what could have happened had one of the children fell into it.
