“Felt like family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

Arrived late in the afternoon and without booking to a wonderful welcome from the owners, including freshly brewed coffee and biscuits. Room was a good size with private bathroom, and had every little luxury you look for in a room. A lounge room was available complete with open fireplace. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful and provided great advice about local sights. Huge home cooked breakfast. Excellent location just off main road into the centre of town. Would recommend staying in Cobh rather than big and busy Cork. Local train goes to Cork regularly; only a short drive by car.

“Felt like home...treated like family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

Martin and Delores were wonderful hosts - from our initial greeting to our departure. We arrived a bit tired and thirsty, so my Susie and I had cocktails in the backyard and sat with M&D as we shared life-time stories. It was soooo relaxing.

The walk into town and dinner was just that - a walk - not a stroll, but Martin was spot-on with his restraunt recommendation.

The heritage center is a must do...it's very moving and explains much of the Irish history (the trials and tribulations of famine and immigration). The cathederal was also a wonderful experience. One can imagine the thousands of Irish immigrants seeking favor from God prior to boarding those ships for a new land in hopes of a better life.

The beds, shower, and breafasts were all top knotch. Delmar is certainly on my "do over" list.

“Truly epic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2011

Cannot praise this place highly enough. On arrival and throughout my 3 day stay I was treated like I was royalty. Martin and Delores were truly excellent hosts. I was constantly topped up with bottles of water and the breakfasts were incredible. They couldnt do enough for me, whether it was directions to a place, offers of a lift into town or even discount vouchers for restaurants. My room was fine and clean. I slept like a baby. The location is ideal as its a short walking distance from the train station and the town centre. Forget staying in the city, you'll have a much nicer stay in Cobh. Its a really lovely place with easy access to Cork by road or rail. I enjoyed my stay so much that i'll be returning here next year. Highly recommended!

“Great hosts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

Martin was a lovely welcoming host when we arrived and gave us plenty of help with regard restaurants and tourist sites. He even gave us some discount vouchers to use. Delores cooked a delightful breakfast and made us lovely cups of tea on arrival. These two know how to make people feel at home in their home. Great stay.
