First off can i just say i was very anxious about going to this hotel as the reviews since July have been fairly bad so i wasn't expecting much.
We arrived on friday night and were checked in straight away. The receptionist told us what time the breakfast was served each morning.
The room itself is quite dated but apart from the decor it was very comfortable. The bathroom was grand working shower, bath, sink, and toilet.
On Saturday after Breakfast (full irish or continental non buffet style)We took advantage of the full use of the leisure centre and followed followed that with a trip into Bantry (approx 2-3 minute drive) or 10 - 15 minute walk. we watched the rugby then in the afternoon in the hotel bar. The TV was big enough for the size of the bar i dont know why other posters gave out about the size of the television.
On sunday we had breakfast again and then checked out about 12 midday.
Overall the decor of the rooms and the hotel are old fashioned but for €99 for two people B&B we were delighted with our stay. The staff couldn't have been more helpful to us. People need to realise that this is an old hotel not a modern hotel and in all fairness we have paid twice the price for an awful lot less.
The only downside is that the corridor does feel like you are walking down a prison corridor but this is only because the doors are key locked and are not electronic like most hotels nowadays.
