“Family stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

We (2 aults plus 3 kids under 8) plus grandparents stayed for 2 nights in the hotel. Our family room was beautiful (overlooking terrace and sea views) Grandparents had a suite which was nice. The corridors are slightly dated but the room wasnt!

The surrounding area is to die for - beautiful swimming, snorkelling and fishing. We also went walking a lot and brought the bikes. Its simply stunning xx

We had an amazing time and breakfast was gorgeous but we ate down in the town most meals as the food wasn't the best for the price. We never ate in the restraunt but the grandparents have many times and say its not fantastic (not bad, just not great!) We did enjoy some pizzas in the smaller dining room one evening. We ordered from the "bar" menu one lunchtime but the choice is very limited, I got a burger & my husband a tuna melt, both were ok.

There is a playroom but its not supervised and is slightly run down, there is plently for older kids to do but this hotel would be close to perfect if they organised better activities for kids (supervised movies, arts crafts etc) and improved on food selection/variety/quality.

Having said all this we cant wait to go back!!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review of your recent stay at Parknasilla Resort and Spa. It was great to read that you and your family enjoyed our bedrooms with the lovely sea views and the many walks around the resort. I was disappointed you did not dine in the Pygmalion Restaurant during your stay as we receive great comments about our food and service. During the holiday periods we have a kids club available which is supervised and includes many activities. Thank you for your comments as it is only through feedback such as yours that we can continually improve our product and service.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Parknasilla in the near future.

Warmest Regards

“Fabulous Location Wonderful staff”

I have stayed at Parknasilla Resort twice recently, once with a couple of girlfriends for a girly weekend in the wonderful self catering cottages & the second time with my husband for a romantic break. On both occasions the food, facilities & staff were second to none. The staff in particular welcome you warmly & nothing is too much trouble for them. The area itself is wonderfully scenic & the walks within the extensive grounds of Parknasilla are magical. I would recommend Parknasilla to groups of friends, families & couples & my hubby & I intend to return again this year. Coming from a hospitality background myself I would be quiet critical so consider this review as high praise indeed!!. Well done Parknasilla & keep up the good work.

“Lovely tranquil spot....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

Had a 2 night stay with bed and breakfast and a dinner. The room was nice, had to get a heater for the room, but it arrived promptly and only had to use it once. Super walks around the hotel, it was the January and wrapping up aided the walking process. Dinner in the dining room was really good, food and service was top class.
Shower in room, was a bit antiquated, water sprayed everywhere, showering had to be done tentively otherwise thhe bathroom would be soaked. A small price to pay for a nice spot. The hotel was packed post New Year, but was well able to cope. Checking in and out was stress free and those working there were super efficient.
Pool and sauna were nice, not sure how effective the steam rooms were?? Pool jammed with kiddies.
Would I go back, yes, a different time of year, it would be nice to see.

Room Tip: Was on the first floor overlooking the dining room. Lovely seated area looking out.

“Fantastic location, wonderful service”

Went back to Parknasilla after 9 years with kids in tow and it did not disappoint. The ambience has been maintained and the grounds, staff and pool were fantastic. Only quibble is that the 2 bedroomed lodge we had was so hot we nearly cooked on the first night before we turned off all the heating, soundproofing from upstairs could be better. All in all though just wonderful.

“Quality”

This was our second year ringing in the New year at Parknasilla and it did not disappoint. From the moment you arrive it's a five star experience all round, with a personal touch from all you meet. Names are remembered and comfort is guaranteed, whether it's in your room, the spa or the wonderful Pygmalion restaurant. This hotel offers you a quality luxurious stay in magnificent surroundings steeped in history. The food is of a superb standard with service to match from all in the restaurant. Go for one of the amazing walks around the resort and then head back to relax in the spa, sitting in an outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking Kenmare bay is a real wonder.
