“Special Place...Highly recommend it”

This was one of our favourite stays in Ireland last Summer. The house and its views are simply stunning....a different world. But the best was the hospitality from the owner John, the incredible breakfast and the comfy bed. We had a great time in Dingle and this is one place we will return to. We had a good look around the house, there is alot of history there and it makes you feel like gentry staying there. It is not in Dingle town but only a short taxi ride away, a few minutes and the taxi came quite quickly. Highly recommend this one fellow travellers.

“A 5 star wedding destination”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2010

We had our wedding here in December 2009.
From the first meeting right through to completion absolutely everything was looked after effortlessly and with complete professionalism by the staff. Absolutely nothing was a problem for them.
The hotel itself is a genuine gem and in a spectacular location. Accommodation was excellent with some rooms in the hotel and more in the adjoining luxurious garden suites.
I have to say the quality of the food was second to none.
We would recommend this to anybody for a wedding or a short break.

“Breathtaking destination!”

The only problem with Ballintaggart is.....you won't ever want to leave!!! Whatever the occasion, be it a wedding, family gathering, girlie weekend, or simply a pit-stop for touring the Dingle peninsula - Ballintaggart has it all. From the wild, natural surroundings, breathtaking views, unparalleled service, luxurious rooms and culinary delights, it really is a feast for all the sense.

I was lucky enough to hold my wedding there in August. Having stayed there and fallen in love with the place the previous October, on a wet, wild, stormy Saturday, I knew that on a sunny summer's day it would be the most perfect romantic location for my wedding. And I wasn't mistaken....in fact it surpassed all our expectations. From the blue skies and blue seas enveloping us as we toasted the nuptials on the lawn overlooking Dingle races, the roaring fires when it rained, to the candlelit courtyard for our first dance, and pig-on-the-spit and trad music for stragglers the following day......People have not stopped complimenting the weekend's venue since, with a large amount of that respect and gratitude levelled at the Cluskey family, who are the most perfect hosts you could wish for.

I cannot wait to return. A year is a long time to wait for our first wedding anniversary so I'm sure our return trip will happen long before that!

Colette Curran, Cork.

“Brilliant for wedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 March 2010

Myself and my wife got married last summer and had a day after hog roast for about 120/140 people at Ballintaggart house. Exceeded all our expectations!! What a great host, everybody had a really relaxed party with copious amounts of wine left over from the wedding consumed!! As we were the only people residing there we had the run of the whole house. We had a ceili playing in the courtyard and on the stairs later and a massive singsong in the parlour until the wee hours. The food etc was all top notch and great value. People who were staying in other places in Dingle cancelled their stays there and moved to Ballintaggart. I could wax lyrical about it. If you are a visitor to Ireland this is a must stay place to get a real flavour of the craic and Irish life. If you are living in Ireland it would be great for wedding murder mystery party etc etc etc.. Enjoy!!

“An eccentric period gem”

We had been quite taken with the house and setting on the website and were not dissapointed on first impressions . The house, an early Nineteenth Century Georgian Country house, would not be out of place with a Blue Book listing, and a good example at that.
We will not forget the informal but excellent service afforded us ; It was much appreciated with a young family in tow.
All rooms are served with ensuites, are spacious and come with a view of Dingle Bay. Ballintaggert is run by a family team and this comes through in the homely, but fine dining quality of the cuisine there. It is so reassuring to have been served fresh fish and then be told it had been caught 3 hours earlier ! Irish coffees and a pint of plain ( Guinness ) from the bar completed our evening meals there
I believe this house was until recently a hostel which is probably why we had not heard of the house before.
But we feel we have stumbled upon a gem here and will most certainly be repeat visitors to this most charming abode.
