“One of the best B&B we've ever had”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

fantastic location with a magnificent view of the mountains. very friendly and hospitable welcome, very clean and spacious rooms (just the bed was a little small for two adults used to a continental standard, but that's typical for Irish beds). The breakfast was one of the best we've ever had in Ireland (and we've stayed at quite a number of B&Bs by now).
We highly recommend this B&B!

“Perfect place - couldn't be happier”

Let me start by saying I normally can be pretty critical in reviews. We originally booked with another B&B down the road that double booked and moved us to Sheenview without asking. I wasn't totally happy with that idea at first, but Amanda and Peter quickly changed our mindset. They were incredibly friendly, and even offered suggestions for places to go that we hadn't considered (great suggestions!) The room was great, it has skylights that open so you can get freshair, and blackout curtains that made it feel like a cave for the day we wanted to sleep in. A separate TV room upstairs was also nice. Amanda's Full Irish breakfast was fantastic, and honestly, we loved the tea (my wife usually hates tea too!) The only suggestion we have is that we wish we knew there was WiFi available (didn't find out until the last morning there)

Make sure you go to Gleninchaquin Park just down the road for a great day with various hikes, and some homemade scones after you finish. The waterfall was beautiful and the views second to none. Also, Peter recommended Healy Pass on our drive on the Ring of Beara and it was a great drive.

Thanks so much for everything, and if we get back to County Kerry, we'll be staying again!

“Super clean and very comfortable. Lovely B&B”

We stayed at Sheenview over the bank holiday weekend. We were diving with Kenmare Bay Diving Centre and Sheenview is located about 20 minutes away on the right side of Kenmare town. Its also a very short drive into Kenmare where there are plenty of nice resturants, so for us the location was ideal. To say the rooms are clean would be an understatement, they are totally spotless (as is everywhere at Sheenview). Our room had a big ensuite and plenty of space. The guest lounge is a nice touch with plenty of books, dvds and board games. The owner is very friendly and helpful. There was plenty of choice for breakfast (including a couple of vegetarian options) and the breakfast was very tasty. The owners certainly go that bit extra to make sure you are well looked after, we'd definitely choose to stay there again.

“Fab B&B”

What a fabulous B&B. Amanda is a very hospitable host & made us feel very welcome. Located in a tranquil position just outside Kenmare with a lovely garden to enjoy afternoon tea. Beautifully extended house with all the equipment you would expect from an above average B&B. Good value & no complaints, except my wife now wants to move there! Ask Amanda to show you the secret path to the coast - its a great place to hide our for a few hours - just a 10min walk.

“fantastic bed and breakfast and excellent quality and value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2007

What a lovely bed and breakfast!

We came across it quite by chance on the ring of Beara road just outside Kenmare.

We liked the out of town location, you need a car to get to a lot of places in Ireland anyway. Can't understand the previous reviewer thinking it was too far out of town? I would say this was a positive aspect of the location; peace and quiet, fantastic view and central for all the attractions of ring of kerry, Beara and Killarney.

From the moment we set eyes on the place we were so pleased to have come across it;it was really nice, tastefully decorated and was finished with quality furnishings.

The room we stayed in was in the loft, sounds like the previous reviewer stayed in the same room too. I did not agree with their comments at all; i found the room to be lovely and charming. As far as the guest lounge was concerned it was a very welcome addition to the b&b and served its purpose over and above what you would normally expect from such a place;dvds, books, hot and cold beverages, cooler fridge, wine glasses and corkscrew, tv and dvd player comfortable chairs and a small window with a gigantic view of the hillside; pretty as a picture! The benefits of a seperate room to relax in are great for the family who may have children in bed or for those who want to relax away from the bedroom.

Breakfast is served in the lovely conservatory and is of good quality
and plentiful..no complaints about the food at all.

we were shown round the rest of the b&b by the owner upon our request, as we admired what a lovely home she had made. The other guest rooms were downstairs and had varying bed configurations and were just as nice as our own; again finished to a very high standard.

Outside there is parking for several cars and there is a patio area and bbq available for the guests to use.

This place is suitable for a whole range of travellers whos needs will be met more than adequately. Near by is Kenmare town, fishing, golf, horse riding, nature and boat trips, cycling, motor cycling, classic car enthusiasts, sightseeing and so much more..Special interest groups are more than welcome too; i was told that any help if needed to plan activities and routes would be available. The owners i gather are very experienced in travel around Ireland as they had holidayed consistenty there over a number of years before coming to Kenmare to live.

I would definately stay at this b&b again and would recommend it without hesitation. Well deserved praise and not deserving of the previous negative review.
